Meanwhile, Sam Mikulak is ON. He wants to be on this team, badly.

He and I are on the same page on this topic.

What happened to the radio broadcast on youtube?

Seems to have just disappeared.

Any general impressions type of PBP that those who can watch it can provide would be great. I have technical PBP on twitter but that's doesn't always tell how the routine looked in general.

Damnit, Brooks fell off PB. I know he's not gonna make the team anyway because of Mikulak, but he's not helping himself by falling!

Sorry, it's just Brooks is my fave and he just keeps missing making major teams, and as a fan, it sucks. :(

The top gymnast after the 2nd day of trials goes automatically. Any gymnast who lands in the top 3 on 3 separate pieces of apparatus goes automatically. The rest of the team is picked by a selection committee. :)

Those are both overall between all four days, right?

Yes, Nationals and Trials combined. And Tim said earlier that the top 2 make it automatically, at the top of the broadcast they said 1, so I'm not sure which it is anymore

Mikulak just grabbed the lead! :cheer2: (I feel so dirty cheering for a Wolverine...)

MSU doesn't have Men's Gymnastics, do they? In that case, I think you should get a pass.

Another solid rings score from Orozco. And really good on PBars for Horton!

He's pretty cute. It's hard not to cheer for him.

John O. is not having a good day.

I expect Sam in first won't last since he hasn't done rings or PH but I am crossing all the fingers for him to hold on to 3rd. I'm a big Horton fan, too, but I don't think they'll leave him at home.

Not anymore, they disbanded the team in 2001 when that thing was passed that stated schools need to have equal number of men's and women's varsity sports.

That's what I figured. I'm instating a rule. If MSU doesn't have a team, you can't feel guilty about rooting for a Wolverine.

Looks like a big miss for Orozco on vault.

I'm laughing at the twitter PBP for Mikulak on PH. Three different people just said some version of "he killed it" rather than giving their usual level of detail.

:D

Noooo, Horton down on the high bar :( He had that, too. And that bar was rattling for ages after he fell

Horton, Leyva and Orozco must be nervous or something. That was a scary fall for Horton.

Dalton's execution on HB was pretty fug today.

Crap, Horton! Not now, please!

Amusing for Leyva and Orozco to be nervous especially since they are locks. Although I guess this is really a first go around for them.

The 4th rotation looks overall unimpressive...

NBC chooses Phillip Phillips' "Home" as their background music during the women's preview fluff piece. :)

And Al stirs drama and rumors again wondering aloud if Maroney will be competing after her crash at Nationals. That's a tough one, she's been doing full workouts during podium training, I seriously don't know if she's going to give it a go tomorrow night.[/sarcasm]

Orozco is fighting illness, I think. That could account for his performance.
