UK Trials begin today and will be shown on BBC over the weekend. Top two with A standard automatically are selected for the Olympics which should make for some :watch: :drama: and :fragile: moments!

Some of yesterday's results in case anybody is interested. :P

Druggie cheat Dwain Chambers won the 100m, but hasn't got the A standard so is not guaranteed selection. Adam Gemili (18) by finishing second is as he ran the A time previously.

Jessica Ennis is now British high jump champion (says a lot when the Irish high jump record for women is higher than the UK one :shuffle: ) and 100m hurdles champion. She'll be competing in two more events today and looks to be coming into form at the right time.

Dai Greene won the 400m hurdles and is selected with Jack Green. Likewise Christine Ohuruogu won the 400m and she will go to London with Shana Cox. As will Andy Baddeley and Ross Murray in the 1500m.

The women's 800m was a complete shambles with Marilyn Okoro and Emma Jackson only needing to finish in the Top 2 to be selected. Okoro ran like a scared rabbit and blew up predictably in the final 100m.

I had looked at the results and felt slightly disappointed by the results. Hopefully, it is due to good old english weather.

I would just like to add that Jessica Ennis improved on her PB in heptathlon earlier this year at the Gotzis heptathlon event, and score a massive 6906 in beating Tatyana Chernova of Russia. Tatyana managed a score of 6774 points without breaking any of her PB in any event, and also had a bad Long jump by her standard, if she had managed a good jump she would have been much closer to Ennis. Tatyana had won the world title last year with a score of 6880 points. So the advantage is with Jessica Ennis now.

It is more than likely that both of these girls could break 7000 points at the Olympics. Russians are holding their nationals soon after the European Championships and Chernova will do some individual events there.
