I am quite disappointed they didn't invite Yuzuru to Japan Open but yay for Gracie Gold and it will be interesting to see Patrick's new competitive program.

It means she's participating in the Medal Winners Open the day before.

But Jeff Buttle is participating in both segments. I wonder about the logic, too.

Exactly. Joannie seems to enjoy the team events, and it's a long way to travel from Canada for just one competition. Maybe she has other commitments (?).

And Morozov can still Politik a win

Maybe IMG just wanted to balance 2 Americans (Wagner, Gold) with 2 Canadians (Chan, Buttle) for Team North America? This competition should give Gracie a bye through her Regionals (Upper Great Lakes) in October.

Thank you Sylvia.
It's gonna be exciting if Plushenko will compete!
Why is the other lady in Team North America "TBD"? Will Gracie be replaced by Joannie?
I checked the Web site of JO and Gracie's name was still there (Of course it says the entries are subjected to change).
What happened to Gracie?

Since I don't know when the Announcement was published, I have no idea which Japan Open roster is more current/accurate.
Gold is listed for the "Carnival on Ice" exhibition which takes place the same day, right after the Japan Open: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=84188
