With the right skaters who actually care about choreography and are committed to it, Lori was able to give brilliant programs under IJS (Kostner, Chan, Rochette, Verne, Asada) whereas I can't think of any program of Morozov's that I can call brilliant. Cyber Swan was great, but when I think of the other programs Morozov's gave Takahashi, I never want him to choreograph for Daisuke again

Morozov helped choreograph Yagudin's Winter program, and I love that program.

I personally happen to like the originality and different approach. It brings life to the skating and versatility. The alternative is to have all skaters doing figures and ballet moves for ever. It gets boring sometimes.
Perfect proof was Leonova with the short at the WC. Yes, it is unusual to see a female (or male) skater come with the outfit and indicating slit throat, however because the program was executed, it was entertaining, different and most importantly different. Similarly the Swan Lake (Hip Hop Version) was genial. Miki's programs were not that bad either.

Leonova's short program was probably the worst choreographed program I have ever seen in Senior elite level skating.

All elements clumped in 3 places. Hardly any transitions. Poor ice coverage. And a straight line sequence that took like 1/3 of the program time and kept stopping. :wall:

How did I miss that Miki had parted ways with Morozov? Is there a thread about that? According to wiki her coach is TBA and Monna. Who is Yuko Monna?

Nobody knows the details but it looks like she finally dumped him and went back to Japan.

Yuko Monna is a Japanese skating coach (if it wasn't obvious enough ;)).

As long morozov doesn't touch his programs...I can live with that! Do your technical part but leave the real artists their jobs!

Morozov is a former Ice Dancer so hardly a jump specialist. :P

Morozov helped choreograph Yagudin's Winter program, and I love that program.

Yet another example of a program which is very gimmicky and "cool" but not actually well choreographed (layout, transitions, use of space and tempo, etc. etc.).

I'm sorry if you have misunderstood my words...I think the same as you bmcg and ziggy...I was only saying that I don't want him to touch Daisuke's coreography because I can hardly find good programs made by Morozov (with the exception of Oda's Charlie Chaplin). I prefer the post Morozov version by a mile but if he has to work with him I hope it's not for his coreographies...

Could be wrong but I find it difficult to believe Takahashi would take on Morozov as a coach, train with him at least part time and not use his choreography, especially since prior to WTT Chan had a PCS advantage.

Yes, my first two reactions were:

1. Nnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scream: :scream:

And

2. well, if this is what he needs to do to beat chan in Sochi, so be it!

And what's up with Miki? I remember the days when she couldn't even accept a Kleenex from morosov in the k&c without 5 20 page long posts appearing about it, dissecting every detail of the exchange and what it really meant. Now all of a sudden they ay have split and nobody even knows anything about it? Say whaaaat????

I looked at the protocols for that particular program and I have to respectfully disagree with you. Judges feel the same way. Second best lower marks (which includes transitions and choreography), first place after short program, second overall. Far cry from your evaluation.

Oh I think you can say exactly that about morose - Leonova's LP this year is just about identical to the last LP Miki skated.

Morose? I like it!! May I borrow and use? :)

"the official announcement" said that Morozov approached Dai and that he (Morozov) wanted to help Dai leading up to Sochi for OG and to also make amends for what had happened between them in the past. I don't know, call me quirky but this reasoning does not make a whole lot of sense to me. Why would he approach Dai and what is in it for him? I don't think Morozov needs the money?

By the time the new season begins I may be an alcoholic, Krull and Patrick breakup, Igor fired, YuNa suing a professor, and now Morozov on Dai's team. I need another drink. lol

All very good questions and I have a bad feeling about this. Of all the things Dai needs to do for the push to Sochi, going back to Tricky Nicky wasn't one of them.

As for that drink...I can't, but I'd be willing to work on a Mint Chocolate Cheesecake w/you? :D

But did you watch the actual program?

As if the judges mark transitions and choreography in any relation to the actual transitions and choreography of the program.

Did you see the 10.00s D&W got for an SD that didn't have one closed hold?

Of course!

It actually was a typo, though how Morosov came out as morose I've no idea. I was obviously thinking about something else at the time. And also likely (stupid) Mac did an auto correct. When I saw it I decided to leave it as is, thinking it appropriate :D

(I love my mac, except for auto correct from time to time. It's determined that I can't possibly mean pani. I absolutely must mean pain  - even this time I had to go back and change pain back to pani. Again!)
