The article has been edited with more information. It seems to clearly state that those three teams feeling neglected had a part in the decision but there was more to it.

Will be interesting to see what this means:

"Honestly, I need some time to regroup," Shpilband said. "I don't know what I'm going to do. If Marina put it in a way -- her or me -- OK, I hope that not all skaters ago that way, that they see (that ) I put my heart and soul into this."

I'm reading into it he hopes some skaters will stay with him. But that's just me. Now with a meeting set up with D&W tomorrow it will be interesting to wait for the next chapter in this story.

eta...and it's been edited again in the few minutes I made this post. Going to bed and will give this a few days for the final version of the article to surface :D

Marina definitely favored V&M over D&W.

I'm not surprised if D&W goes to wherever Igor ends up, while V&M and Shibs stay with Marina.

We shall see who's the real master of POLITIKS at 2013 Worlds/2014 Olympics. Is it Igor or Marina?

WOW, how crazy! The way that V/M, D/W, and the Shibs talk about their coaches in interviews, you'd think that the coaching environment was perfect. I can't believe that all three wanted him gone!? You can tell that he's particularly shocked about D/W...

We need a poll: A rink in Michigan, Toronto, NYC area, Russia? :D

Riazanova/T for Olympic gold! haha

I believe that Hackensack, NJ, might be open for a head dance coach.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. Plenty of teams that could be trained there. We'll see what happens. Wouldn't be able to keep his current students if he moved -- if any of them happen to want to stick with him, that is. Coach vs Coach, pretty heavy stuff :scream:

And the World Arena in Colorado Springs.

This whole situation reeks of sabotage from Marina. Igor built that school and is the driving force behind those skaters, certainly the American teams. Without him, the program will fall like a house of cards.

This and the Game of Thrones season finale. Lots of intrigue today.

It's give and take, but Marina didn't see it that way. She wanted me to go away.

Well it seems Igor thinks it was Marina. :shuffle:

I hope Russia scoops him back up and all their teams become CoP-bots and kick everyone's asses in Sochi.

I'm still shaking my head over the timing. When was the last time something came out on a Sunday?

This could be the beginning of the end of the Canton Ice Dance Powerhouse :(

No more PCS 10's for V&M and D&W next year!! Without Igor's politiks, I think we'll finally get realistic PCS marks for them (8.75-9.25 range).

I never understood why their scores are so much higher than P&B and W&P. Hopefully someone else will finally have a fair chance to win in 2013-2014.
