No, calling adults "kids" is not pejorative at all. :shuffle:

When kids grow up, you acknowledge them as adults and stop calling them kids.
Hah!
I even call you kid, so what? :P

Artur Verner is an old senile fool whose sources and analysis tend to be much less comprehensive than some of the posters' here. Which should be taken into account.

He hints that the whole story was arranged by the Russian federation, where Zoueva plays the role of a pawn; Shpilband found a new rink, but doesn't mention which; Zoueva fails to find a technical specialist to replace Shpilband.

Nothing that could be read in the open press or on this very thread; minus the conspiracy theory that is a fruit of his personal imagination (even if it is turns out to be true eventually).

The thing is though Andrey I can't help thinking there may very well be some truth to his theory. Surely Zoueva should and the skaters who followed her should have thought about a technical specialist before they got rid of Igor.

But I can totally see maybe some playing on the jealousies/insecurities.

I did think it was curious that the most successful US coaching team split up the second Gorshkov and R&T arrived. But I agree with Andrey - Verner isn't offering any new information, even if turns out to be true. This is something any of us could have speculated.

Things will become clearer now that he has a rink and we'll see which teams end up with him.

I have to say well played by the Russians if they played into the rink manager,, skaters, Igor and Zoueva's egos. The concept that the person who built the technical program was expendable..

I gather you're not a parent, nor one who's had occasion to feel parental feelings that often. Not surprising though, as you're still extremely young. :P

:revenge:

ETA: PS, just shared this silly issue with little AYS the elder, who says her collegiate swim coach calls all her athletes "kids" and they adore her and wouldn't have it any other way.

The plot is thickening and soon we shall solve the mystery of the decade.

His theory must have come from some of the rumors doing the rounds, but as for Zueva being a plant for the Russian federation? Highly unlikely. I do believe it of Linichuk, but that's another kettle of rotten fish.

However you gotta believe the Russian federation is being opportunistic of the situation somehow.

"Comeback to us Igor, together we'll destroy the Americans." :puppet:

.

btw that last part is just a joke. :shuffle:

Pawn isn't plant. I can see them playing on Marina and Igor's egos to get the results they want. They after all have known both Marina and Igor since they were kids (or known people who have known them since they Igor and Marina were kids).
You can totally play on people's egos at times to get them to do things that are really bad for them. Like convincing them that they might want to be the "star" coach and prove they can do it on their own...Thing of the matter is to blame a third party is ridiculous. You can't break up a strong relationship if said relationship is already strong. At the end of the day Marina/Igor are the reasons that relationship went south.

With apologies to Verner, there may be less here than meets the eye, and the trigger was a good, old-fashioned argument between rink ownership and a coach. But Piseev planting a pawn is so much more colorful.

Arthur Werner at his comference post - Shpilband found ice near Сanton
http://www.wer-art.com/conf/Compuware perhaps? Compuware is at Beck and M-14, exactly 20 minutes north of Arctic Edge at Beck and M-12 (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=from:+Compuware+Arena,+Plymouth,+MI+to:+Arc tic+Edge+Ice+Arena,+Michigan+Avenue,+Canton,+MI&saddr=Compuware+Arena,+Plymouth,+MI&daddr=42.3670758,-83.5092285+to:Arctic+Edge+Ice+Arena,+Michigan+Aven ue,+Canton,+MI&hl=en&ll=42.329108,-83.474121&spn=0.154573,0.308647&sll=42.328435,-83.504545&sspn=0.154575,0.308647&geocode=FcvUhgIdu8QF-yEgomLu8Y2bgg%3BFWN4hgIdFMAF-ymZGRPRqlQ7iDEUiivbYCRA4g%3BFVD3hAIdfugF-yElTdvouNelaQ&t=h&gl=us&z=12&via=1). You may want to hold off on all the bets a little longer. See once Igor gets settled who follows him. As some other people have said - hard to say you're sticking with Igor when he doesnt even have a rink.
