We have plenty of mega rinks in the DC area plus a successful fledgling ice dance program.:DYeah, but there are 3 coaches already there. They probably wouldn't want to add a 4th. ;)

Although it would be awesome if Igor came down here. :)

I'm sure Igor can find another home in the Detroit area. What remains to be seen is what teams will go with him.

Jacqui White has posted a comment on the Detroit Free Press story site saying that the dance teams did not initiate this and are basically caught in the middle as Marina and Igor do battle.

If I were her I would have stayed quiet until Charlie released a statement. :shuffle: :shuffle: but by all means bring all the attention to yourself Jacqui...

I think she was being a parent upset at strangers calling her son and his partner "brats" publicly on the Internet and wanted to set the record straight.

I imagine the skaters have been instructed by USFSA to stay quiet on this for the time being and we won't be hearing anything from them for a while.

Are all the teams still on vacation/off season? Or will they be coming into the rink tomorrow?
If I were one of those skaters and scheduled to come in, I might make it a "sick day."

 at Zueva trying to pass this off on the dance teams if this is true. Now THAT is a scandal.

Anyway, I just remembered this Blanc & Bouquet interview from a while back:

During a work session with Igor Shpilband (coach of the Olympic champions and vice-champions) in the United States, we showed him our, still uncompleted at the time, FD to Grand Corps Malade’s slam because we wanted him to help us build some parts. He told us he was loving it but could not help with the choreography for fear of changing its style.

Maybe it was Zueva who he feared changing the program's style. He may not be able to doing anything creative without her input and that's why he wanted exclusivity to those two teams.

Maybe Shpilband hates Shpilband programs as much as we do becuase they're really Zueva programs.

The article implied that they were all on vacation. The only response has been from a skater's mom and she seems to think the skaters weren't behind getting him fired, while the rink says they were. Marina is "saddened" by his firing, and he thinks it was her doing. So there you have it.

well, it's only dramatic coz it involves the top two teams in ice dance for the last 4 years. if v/m and d/w were lesser ranked skaters, it wouldnt have mattered as much.

Zing. I have wondered this for a while. The irony!
