It's tomorrow and no thread? Sigh. Miss Maryland, Miss South Dakota, and Miss California are my faves. Miss Texas is expected to win :blah:.

Miss Illinois is channeling Kim Kardashian in the head shot.

Here they are: http://www.missuniverse.com/missusa/members/contestants

The photography is great this year, very high couture. I saw Florida and thought that she looks Russian. And she is from Ukraine.

Miss Florida is very impressive - a unique beauty.
She is a G.G. - graduate gemologist - not easy to accomplish.

It will be interesting to see how the judges respond to her.

I like Arizona, Georgia, Kansas, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada and Ohio.

New Jersey (http://cdn.missuniverse.com/media/photos/galleries/photographer_uploaded_2_1337771503_2012.jpg) and Oklahoma (http://cdn.missuniverse.com/media/photos/galleries/photographer_uploaded_2_1337771444_2012.jpg) look like they are about to clobber you with the prop. :scream:

Why do they all look like they're channeling Cleopatra?

06-02-2012, 08:59 PM
I think the Cleopatra thing is cool.

What's the big deal about Texas? Why is she expected to win?

06-02-2012, 09:01 PM
I like Delaware, New Mexico and North Carolina.

New Mexico is cool and a hell of an athlete too.

I suppose they decided to do a themed photoshoot.
It doesn't do some of them any favors.

Why do they all look like they're channeling Cleopatra?

Though Miss Maine didn't get the message and is channeling I Dream of Jeanne and Miss Pennsylvania is channeling The Bride of Frankenstein

I agree, skatesindreams. Some of them look sweet and nice in this fierce outfit--doesn't really work. Some look downright mean. But it worked for many of them IMO.

They should do an individualized session, whatever fits every girl. But I guess they have to compare them.

It's too bad some look like they don't practice with the photography shots enough. For example Rhode Island - gorgeous - but she has a couple very blank looking photos up.

Some couldn't name the Vice President of the United States. Not good.

Is the competition Sat. evening or Sun. evening?
