The Hobbit main theme. (http://themarysue.tumblr.com/post/26776304122/alphamano-the-hobbit-2012-main-theme-over) Not sure if it's the real deal or a fanmix, but it gives me goosebumps. :swoon:

Sounds like a fanmix, but we'll see. The score for LOTR was so awesome-I'm sure this will match up.

Last night I went to the Arts Centre here in Ottawa to see the original LOTR-FOTR on a projection screen with a full symphony orchestra, vocal soloists, a huge choir (men's, women's and children together and separately) playing the soundtrack. They even had a guy using chains on piano strings to make the Orc sounds. An awesome experience.

By the way the movie had French subtitles, this being Ottawa. Loved that Frodo's name was translated as "Frodon Saquin", and Bag End as "Cul-de-sac"

Given the content, you could call it "Albert has Boobs"

(Oops, sorry, spoiler alert. ;) )

Went to the drive in last night.

The Amazing Spiderman was way better than I expected as I was not into spiderman before. I really like how they still kept elements of Peter Parker when he was Spiderman.

That's my boy was next and OMG was it gross and childish but somewhat funny. The twist was particularly disgusting.

Snow White and the Huntsman was last but it was 3 am half way through and we were falling asleep so we left. The parts we saw were good and I loved Charlize as the evil queen.

I just saw a movie which is now one of my top five movies of all time: Angel's Crest (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6R-M79Sfak). Wow, I absolutely love this movie. So imagine my suprise when I go to imdb.com to find out move about it...and see that it's been given a 5.6 rating. WHAT??? I expected it to be around 7.7! (I gave it a 10 of course.) :D

Angel's Crest stars Thomas Dekker, Kate Walsh, Jeremy Piven, Mira Sorvino, Joseph Morgan (Klaus on the Vampire Diaries), Elizabeth McGovern and in a stunningly wondrous performance, Lynn Collins (as Cindy). I loved everything about this movie. The script, directing, acting, editing and cinematography are all amazing. If the trailer looks like the type of movie you enjoy, then you MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!! :cheer2: :respec: :cheer: :40beers:

The 5.6 is better than the rating over in the Rottentomatoes world. Ouch.

Finally went to see the new Spiderman and loved it! I went in not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. And I'm also liking the whole no MJ thing. So two thumbs up from me.

I loved The Amazing Spiderman too! It was great. Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield have tons of chemistry, no wonder they ended up hooking up :P

A fourth Hunger Games movie has been confirmed. Since the 3rd book is by far the worst of the series I am not sure this is a good thing. Hopefully they will fix some of the kinks in the story.

Woo hoo, my library just posted Salmon Fishing in the Yemen on their catalogue, and I'm first in the queue (comes out on DVD July 24). I wanted to see this one on the big screen but it was only showing at a couple of inconvenient locations.

Considering what a great job they smoothing out the rough edges for first one, I have high hopes that the Mockingbird movies will be an improvement over the books. Plus the whole plot of Mockingbird just begs for movie treatment. I'm not sure there's enough content there to warrant 2 movies ... but I'm still optimistic.

Two things of note in Entertainment Weekly:

Russell Crowe to play title role in biblical epic Noah (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1959490/). I haven't read the Bible. This is basically a reboot of Evan Almight with the guy from Master and Commander, right?

And in the movies review section, they give The Three Stooges (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1R4b04mxOs) and A- rating. A minus??!!

And from vanityfair.com:

Scarlett Johansson Reportedly Offered Higher Pay Rate Than Angelina Jolie (http://www.vanityfair.com/online/oscars/2012/07/scarlett-johansson-angelina-jolie-pay-rate-avengers)

20 million for the Avengers sequel vs. Jolie's 19 million for 'The Tourist'.

First Oscar Bait of the Year? The Sessions’ Trailer Starring Helen Hunt and John Hawkes (http://www.vanityfair.com/online/oscars/2012/06/the-sessons-trailer-helen-hunt-john-hawkes-the-surrogate)

Youtube trailer: The Sessions (also starring William H. Macy, Moon Bloodgood and Adam Arkin) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy2y7UIpgP4)

It looks sweet!!!

There is also news about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. They're divorcing??!! ;)

I just saw Treeless Mountain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoUwUnRuqEA&feature=youtube_gdata_player). It's a Korean movie about two young girls dealing with being dumped on their family when their mother takes off. I highly recommend it.
