This is bashing?

Or is it the article entitled "My first single 'is a little too pop'"

I've never seen where Phillip has not only praised the quality of the song, but its writer as well.

Wow!! This isn't bashing at all. Amazing how things get distorted. He has always seemed like a humble type of person. He was very grateful and overwhelmed when he won. It was quite moving to watch.

I'm listening to Phillip's studio version of Home (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dfTURAhrTY) right now and I think it's beautiful. I think it will always remind me of the finale when he seemed so overwhelmed and overcome with emotion. It was a great moment and I'm glad he didn't bother to try singing, but just went with the moment. And then walking over to his family. I'm getting a little teary... :)

Told ya so! He so killed Jessica in digital sales. His Idol collection album sold 6 times more than Jessica's. None of Jessica's songs are even on the digital charts this week. Where are all the (five) Jessica fans (especially in the Philippines)????? Do they vote religiously so they could have a Filipino winner, but not interested in buying her music?

Thanks for bumping up the race issue. Just when things were starting to get boring around here...

Those quotes are not the same ones I read. This was something he was quoted saying to a group of people at a performance or something. I can't remember but I will go try and find it. It wasn't something said in an interview. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was much more PC in an interview.

I thought David Cook was very diplomatic about "magic rainbows" but it was clear he didn't like the song.

...yup, and stopped performing it as soon as the AI tour was over. At the soundcheck I attended this past November, he was asking for requests. Someone yelled "Magic Rainbows!" and the look he gave her...too funny. She was kidding and so was he, by the way, but when her friend asked for Billie Jean, he called for security.

While Phillip Phillips' family was in California to support their son through his surgery, thieves ransacked the family business. Yahoo article:

Wow. Way to kick a family when they're down....

That is terrible. Some people have no soul.

This is not as bad as people stealing from a widow while she's at the funeral but still pretty bad. Anyone know how Phillip is doing?

According to my news feed, is out of the hospital recuperating from what seems like a very long surgery. According to the same articles, he doesn't expect to miss any shows. We'll see.

Best of luck to him.

That is terrible. Some people have no soul.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

May Phillip have a speedy and complete recovery.
Thinking of him.

So did anyone watch the July 4th Concert at the Capitol tonight?

Phillip performed "Home" (video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXLvhwMbz2s)).

I'm not sure if this is his first concert performance since his surgery, but IMO he did really well. Compared to the last few weeks he was on Idol, his voice was a lot clearer and stronger (and on key), his coloring looked healthy/good, and he had great energy on stage, not to mention he seemed like he was having an absolute blast.

I did. I thought he did well. I know some people harp on that song, but I love it. Although I was shocked ... shocked I say... at what he chose to wear.

In the intro to the show, they announced that this was Phillip's first performance since winning AI.
They didn't say why, though.

Here's another video - the first was removed:
