Here we go.

Tonight's themes:
1st round: Songs about California or by artists from California
2nd round: "Songs they wish they'd written"

Up first, Phillip with CCR's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" (Yes, they are from California)

P2 is really really pitchy and all over the place... and he's singing off key... Blech

I didn't mind it. But I wasn't paying close attention, either. ;)

Philip pitchy and strained.

Maybe Phil sounds better live than he does through the TV.

Hollie singing Journey's "Faithfully." I will be mad if nobody does a Chili Peppers song this round.

Sang well but really boring arrangement.

Hollie sounded very good, strong.

And apparently she actually got some coaching the help her understand the song. What a concept.

I thought Philip did a pretty good job on CCR. Great song choice which suited his voice. I'm not usually a fan of Philip but I had no problem with that.

Holly was really good at the end of "Faithfully" ... a couple of very strong notes there. At the first, I thought she sounded tentative and disconnected from the song. Maybe it was just the arangement. Decent job, though.

Josh singing "You Raise Me Up" by Californian Josh Groban. Seriously?

I guess Jessica is my last hope to hear someone do "Blood Sugar Sex Magic."

I think this is one of Josh's best vocal performances. Cheesy staging though.

I haven't watched most of the season, but I liked Phillip. I thought he had the right tone for that song. I can't just listen to YRMU - I keep expecting the back up singers to start skating.

Joshua did a wonderful job on that song. Nuff said.

I liked Jessica's Etta James' song pretty much, but, is it a criticism to say I didn't understand one word?
