Alright. Going to a Bar Mitzvah on the East Coast in the fall. Thinking of wearing this for the service in black: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/adrianna-papell-pleated-jersey-sheath-dress/3034652 Love the shoes on the model, btw.

and this to the party: http://cdnd.lystit.com/photos/2012/02/09/calvin-klein-blueberry-stretch-luxe-twist-neck-sheath-dress-product-2-2869564-911246590_full.jpeg

Both with nude closed toe patent pumps.

Love both dresses! I'm not sure I would wear nude pumps with the first dress. I'm thinking black patent, with that one. I couldn't see the shoes on the Nordstrom dress. For some reason Nordstrom's site won't let me open anything but the first thumbnail on any page. Won't let me zoom, either.

Where on the east coast?

NJ. I went on live chat with Nordstrom to look for these shoes but turns out per reviews they are (a) uncomfortable (b) made of faux leather and (c) out of my size anyway. Bummer because they are cute.

Ann Taylor outlet? My size 0 niece swears by them. The have an awesome dress sale going on now!

I took my petite daughter who is working her first job out of college shopping at our local Ann Taylor Outlet store, and she hit the jackpot! She is 5'0" and 105lbs. They have a huge section of petites and lots of size 0 and 00 clothes and XS/XXS sizes. Everything was 40-50% off.

Where are you, not that I am familiar with NJ geography.

Not that NJ geography is such a big deal, you can drive the state end-to-end in two hours. ;)

I am packing underwear for my trip at the moment. I am torn between looks and comfort. I am decidedly of the not-a-thong generation.

I don't know how anyone can stand thongs. I guess you just have to get used to them.

I'm hearing my mother say "If it requires special underwear, it's not suitable for business attire."

I like that one

And we must not forget that our mothers always told us to wear nice, clean underwear, as you never knew if you would have an accident and have to go to a hospital. Rather pessimistic, huh?

Business attire in Israel is a t-shirt that isn't torn and doesn't have an obscenity on it. And a skirt that covers the hoo-hah. Yes, even for women of advanced age.

Unless you're religious, in which case getting dressed is tantamount to a burka, even in the middle eastern heat. Thank God I'm an atheist.
