Well, generally you're right. But you can't hem a dress with a waist-to-hem zipper, not that that is all that common a feature!

And I found it, it was on their website in pink rather than green: http://www.anntaylor.com/ann/catalog/productDetails.jsp?prodId=275502&colorExplode=false&skuId=11281344&catid=cata000012&productPageType=fullPriceProducts&defaultColor=5058&prodId=275502

No, IA, you will not be too hot for the bride. It's a great dress.

Hmm, I like the zipper detail. But, I think the waist is set too high, that may be why it looks dowdy.

Thanks, ladies. I feel better now. :)

(I am so loving this thread. How kind of you to remember my coloring....) It would be too bright for pale winter PRlady but with the slight tan I always have in the summer, it's nice. The pink, though, that requires a whole different coloring.

And cruisin, I always have problems with dress waists hitting too high, being chesty, but this one actually hit me right on the natural waist.

And I am not buying it anyway! Resolve, resolve, resolve.

Shoes?

Oh yes. Closed toe wedges sort of like this but goldish instead of silver: http://www.onlineshoes.com/womens-adrienne-vittadini-brianna-silver-linen-p_id259664 Actually, they look exactly like this but with very subtle gold tinge to them.

Wedding at the beach/beach house, remember.

OK, here are the exact shoes: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/product.jsp?icid=&searchType=MAIN&rte=%252Fsearch.jsp%253FN%253D0%2526Ntt%253Despadr illes%2526_requestid%253D38700&eItemId=prod139300024&itemId=prod139300024&parentId=&cmCat=search

Wait, are you guys suggesting that it's too hot and could be offensive to the bride?

Since it will end just right above the knee, that makes it completely acceptable for a wedding. Besides... isn't it always the goal to look HOTTER than the bride?! :D

:EVILLE: I was just thinking to myself that I bet you did.

I'm of the thinking that nobody really cares if you look hotter than the bride since nobody will be paying much attention. Aside from the wedding crashers looking for sad single female guests to bring home for a little :grope:.

The girls who showed up to my ex-bf's wedding (bride's guests, probably, since I didn't know them) wearing miniskirts and stiletto heels on a sand-covered hotel beach got a good  from me though.

Stilettos do not belong on sand. Just no.

Hence the .

Specifically, it was on the roof of a fancy hotel that had sand on it. So at least they had something to stand on...underneath about an inch of sand. :P

Oh I pictured them sinking into sand. Still. The wedding I am attending is at the beach house with paved/hard surfaces, not the actual beach.

 Some girls just can't help being hot! It's such a burden :D. And brides aren't supposed to look HOT, they're supposed to look pure ;).

It should be a crime to wear good shoes on the beach, they'd get ruined! Breaking an ankle is secondary. :D

That is weird. Sand on the roof! I am imagining people drinking, an uneven surface, up on a roof - not a great combination!

I'm a little miffed that a wedding dress isn't going to show off my best assets - my lower half. The upper half isn't too impressive. But something tells me that a dress that shows off the lower half would send the older relatives into a tizzy.

It was a morning wedding so not a whole lot of drinking. But yes, normally there is drinking on the roof. They have tall walls up there.

They would recover. Do what you want. That is my wedding advice to everyone.

My mother is barely 5'2" and has always felt like long dresses make her look even shorter, so her wedding dress was just below knee length. It worked for her and she has no regrets about it, 48 years later.

My wedding ring has sapphires in it. The wife of a good friend of my husband goes on and on all the time about how much she loves that my ring has some color and how she wanted something like that but her stepmother (who raised her) would have been so upset by it being non-traditional that she just couldn't do it. She has been married for nearly ten years and is still regretting not doing what she wanted. Don't let other people's ideas leave you with regrets!
