One more thing... focus on what you'll see in the waist up pictures, not so much in the full length shots. Have someone take a picture and see how the dress frames your face. My mother fell in love with the detail on the back of my dress. Too bad you couldn't see it in any of the pictures.

i like sleeves on most people, even if they are tiny ones

I actually like sleeves on wedding dresses. Unfortunately, they are very hard to find, now. And when you do find them, they are dated looking. Sleeves, just aren't trendy right now. In spite of how lovely Kate middle to looked in her dress.

There are dresses with sleeves -- observant Jews can't wear strapless or sleeveless wedding dresses. Here's one with little sleeves I think is flattering: http://www.helenebridal.com/Wedding-Dresses/WD0356/. (And affordable.)

My niece had a lovely dress with short sleeves for her wedding two summers ago -- too bad I can't find a picture of it (other than linking to one of her wedding pictures).

I've been to a modern Orthodox wedding where the bride wore a sleeveless dress.

Under the chuppah? It's OK for the reception but not, as I understand it, for the ceremony.

Yup. I was surprised myself.

On another note, I finally gave in to the unanimous decision and bought, online, a pair of black patent pumps I might actually be able to wear. Because the heels are only two inches....they're very basic but if they fit they will do.

All of the above dresses are very pretty. I wasn't thinking cap sleeved, I was thinking long sleeved. So, I stand corrected :). I suppose there are some very pretty dresses with long sleeves too. But, they are hard to find. At least, according to my guilty pleasure - Say Yes to the Dress :D.

Cole Haan makes the most comfortable shoes! Have you ordered from Endless before? I am leery of Amazon shopping. As in, where do they get their inventory? But there is a pair of shoes that I cannot find, in my size, anywhere else. The other thing is that the shoes are on sale at the other stores (that don't have my size) and they are not on sale at Endless.

I've ordered from them before with no problem, on getting what I ordered or on returns.

6PM, OTOH, I discovered last week does NOT pay for returns. After paying $14 to return one pair of shoes, I've sworn never to order from them again no matter how cheap the price.

.....modern Orthodox ......Isn't that an oxymoron?

Love the pumps, PRLady. Every gal needs a pair of pointy-toed pumps.

For ONCE she listens to me when I tell her something.

Maybe it was all of the black patent shoes we kept showing her, even after PRLady said no thank you

But, they are a good choice! Black patent pumps can be worn with almost anything. They're an even better neutral than black, matte leather.
