:D
I tried on the dress just now with two pairs of shoes I already own.
One is a grey patent peeptoe, like this except with a strap across the instep (I can't wear pumps): http://www.sierratradingpost.com/sofft-gemini-pumps-leather-peep-toe-for-women~p~4521w/?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=PaidShopping&utm_term=Sofft_Gemini_Pumps_-_Leather_Peep_Toe_For_Women&utm_campaign=PCGOOGLEB2&codes-processed=true
The other is a dress sandal where the grey/taupe soft bow is exactly the grey shade in this ashes-of-roses dress: http://www.zappos.com/oh-shoes-gail-bronze-metallic-nappa?zfcTest=fw:0.
Thoughts?
And holy moly, I actually have an ashes of roses chiffon scarf with silver beading if I want to wear it.
The first pair is dressier and has a cleaner line. The dress is so structured, that I think the second pair is not just too casual (mostly because of the heel), but too fussy. I like the first one better.

After you said you couldn't find a picture, I went hunting (on Euro sites).
Found it; not the jacket!
I like them very much,
If you don't wear the peeptoe shoe, is something in a light shade of pewter a possibility?
Your Nordsttom contact might be able to help.
They began as a shoe store, still specialize in them; and have great sales.

Well...if I have to buy shoes I am not going to spend much.
There are these:http://www.6pm.com/sofft-versailles-eggshell-vinalustrop which may be too girly and I also have problems with slingbacks.
And these: http://www.6pm.com/sofft-pavia-eggshell-vinalustrop.
Or am I being too matchy.

Yes. Black shoes. Patent.

If they are too "matchy" you might not be able to wear them with other things,
I like these:

Are wooden heels dressy enough for the event?

Good question. These shoes have the same modern vibe as the dress but not sure about the heels. Problem is I can only wear certain brands, including this one.
I have plenty of other summer clothes I can wear these with....

Buy them; and try them with the dress.
You'll know when you see them together.
If not, you can use them with other dresses.

This has been said before in this thread but bears repeating - no stacked heels. They are day wear, casual. Always, no exceptions. The dress (which is fab, fab, fab PRLady) is far too chic for stacked heels.

OK, agreed.
I actually own these: http://www.comfortoneshoes.com/Tsubo-Acrea-Coral_p_12433.html. They're fun and comfortable. Also too casual?

Those could actually work if the colors mesh. And they're a little edgy like the dress.
I'd love to see your dress paired with a greyish green shoe if you have one. But if you have a shoe that can work, I'd go with what you already have.

Yes. Black peeptoes in PATENT. BLACK. PEEPTOES IN PATENT. Say, it PRLady.
Because you are tall and long limbed you can pull it off--I love the combination of pink and black, very Chanel.
I hereby ban all shoes with embellishments of any kind. Simplicity, just like the dress and the jacket.
If this dress were a skater, it would be Patrick Chan. Don't pair it up with Pasha Grishuk. :drama:
If you insist on Sofft: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/sofft-shoes-ramona-ii-pumps?ID=535879&CategoryID=13247&LinkType=PDPZ1
The heel is sadly stacked but in black patent it's not that obvious.
Or these: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/sofft-shoes-garde-mary-jane-pumps?ID=655972&CategoryID=13247&LinkType=PDPZ1
Both on sale, the price is right.

I'd definitely go with the first pair. Love the dress, and the jacket is fantastic :)

what is a stacked heel? *crawls back into her world of non-fashion*

Definition:
Usually brown or beige, stacked heels are designed to give the illusion of thin layers of wood that have been stacked up to create a flat, wedge or high heel.
Stacked heels are seen on both men's and women's casual footwear
Also Known As: built heels, stack heels

No, I won't. [Stomps shoeless foot.] Because I hate peeptoes, they cut into my toe. The grey patent Softts I have are just barely bearable so if you insist on dark-ish patent, that's what I'm wearing.
I tried the dress on with black patent shoes, Nordstrom kindly provides them in their dressing rooms, and the contrast was too much.
