Sorry about your toe, cruisin. :(

This is the dress: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=24576688

mhh, those Jessica Simpsons are very pretty but can you walk in them?

That dress is so pretty, I ♥ it! No wonder it's no longer available.

As for the heels, yeah, I can walk in them... for 15 minutes! They're most likely going back.

BittyBug, I've tried narrow before (not this shoe though) and they are too tight on the ball area. :(

Ahhh! yes, very pretty. Let us know how it looks! This is difficult. I respect our need for anonymity, but I do wish I could see how people look in their duds! :)

Meanwhile, I am so pissed! I broke my little toe Saturday! You all will never believe how I did it. I jammed my toe into one of my dog' hard rubber toys. It stuck to the floor and my toe went back and I heard cracks. I've broken it before, and it feels the same as it did last time. I think I chipped the knuckle. Of course, this does not stop me from my daily 3 mile walk, I just do it in flip flops. So, now, I have a broken toe and blisters from the flip flop straps. And what's pissing me off - I have a shower to go to this Sunday, and I can't wear any of my fabulous shoes! I am such a putz!
That reminds me of the time I MAJORLY sunburned my legs on the beach mere days before my sister's graduation. No strappy shoes for me!

Sounds like you've got my problem - wide feet, narrow heels. For dressy sandals, I HAVE to do slingbacks. I'll walk out of the shoes otherwise. Even heel grips don't help.

I am built sort of like one of the reviewers of this dress, laineybug from NY. Her pic is there under the dress itself, one of the top reviews.

So, then you look fabulous in the dress! :)

Thank you. :) I am thinking of hemming it a bit, to just above the knee, nude pumps and done.

Will the lace edge allow it?

That's what I wonder about--if the worst comes to worst, the lace edge could be removed and just tucked in. I think the correct length is more important.

vesperholly - you are absolutely adorable!

Aw shucks, thanks everyone :D

H&M has a ton of cute (and cheap) summer dresses. I tried on a mint green one that was really flattering and light but SO SHEER :(

I've been wearing the pumps off and on and tried a different type of heel grippers. That along with these grippy foam insoles (http://www.zappos.com/foot-petals-killer-kushionz-3-pair-pack-heavenly-heelz-3-pair-pack-combo-black-buttercup-silver-rose) and it seems to stay on, but does make it feel a bit tighter. I'm hoping walking around in them will loosen it up just a little bit.

Found these in black (http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom//women/brands/view-all-brands/worthington%25c2%25ae-cara-high-heel-sandals/prod.jump?ppId=1da40da&catId=cat100240063&deptId=dept20000018&selectedLotId=0235445&selectedSKUId=02354450083&rootDimName=size&navState=navState-:catId-cat100240063:subcatId-:subcatZone-false:N-100240063%20321%20322:Ns-S1_grp_cur_min_price|0||S1_grp_cur_max_price|0:Nao-96:ps-96:pn-2:Ntt-:Nf-:action-pagination&topDim=Size&topDimvalue=5&dimCombo=Size|Size&dimComboVal=5|5%201/2&currentDim=Size&currentDimVal=5%201/2&searchCount=574&sortType=Price%20Low%20to%20High%20&catId=SearchResults#) and really like the simple style. Would these be dressy enough?

I think so.

I, too, suddenly have a clothing problem. I will sit my state examination (medicine) next year and always assumed I would be wearing normal white working clothes and a white coat over it. But last week I saw the students who sat the exam this year - and apparently that won't be the case, you are expected to wear a suit! A really fancy one.

But I look horrible in those!

Most of the other girls are blonde and skinny and will really rock some great suits made for skinny people. And the examinations will be conducted by attending physicians and chiefs - which in Germany means by a bunch of chauvinistic blokes who managed to get to the top of the food chain by being all ruthless and everything. So I can't look like the chubby, slightly geeky, Southern European cutie (which would be the normal me).

So far I have never worn a suit, be it trousers and blazer or skirt and blazer, that didn't make me look chubby. They all look somewhat ill-fitted, too. It's a disaster.
I am like 5'6 with big hips (102cm) and just a really prominent derrière, decent chest (94cm) and small-ish waist (65cm).

Any ideas? I know, I could try going on a diet till next year. One of my study buddies proposed that one. But I need to study and less food / chocolate intake will just make me grumpy and not very productive with the whole studying thing. I need help!

My Anthro dress has arrived but I haven't tried it on yet. Should be fine since I'd tried the one in the store--the one with a burn.

:fragile: :wuzrobbed

I tried mine on last night with shapewear. Admittedly bloated from travel, bad food and a mojito. I loved the dress and I am not thin enough to wear it, even with Spanx.

Since I do love it, I'm holding on to it for 10 days to see where I am weight-wise. Even if it's not right for the SF event it is such a nice dress.
