My latest bargain find was this dress for $9 (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/580592_10100556470126358_15700479_48270274_8461972 96_n.jpg) (far right). I found it on fatshionistaxchange.livejournal.com. :cheer2:

If anyone is looking for a mid-heel wedge that's super comfy, these (http://www.lordandtaylor.com/eng/Shoes-wedges-Tyler_Wedge_Sandals-lordandtaylor/208406) are the most comfortable shoes I've bought in quite a while.

And if you have narrow feet, this is an excellent, reasonably-priced brand: http://www.zappos.com/onex-aroma-white-leather. Order one size up, they run small.

I'm assuming you have these. They're nice. I always worry about getting a sandal with metal connecting to the thong, that it will pinch. I'm guessing these don't do that?

Speaking of shoes, I just ordered these (http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/gifts/for-her/shoes/ana%25c2%25ae-nikki-wedge-sandals/prod.jump?ppId=1da2090&selectedLotId=0236215&selectedSKUId=02362150109&navState=navState-:catId-:subcatId-:subcatZone-false:N-:Ns-:Nao-0:ps-24:pn-1:Ntt-nikki:Nf-:action-search&catId=SearchResults)in 5's. Woohoo, can't wait.

And after this weekend's trial of different heels, hubby's forbidden me to wear stilettos. Hmmph... just because he had to catch me a couple of times while I was trying to walk in them in our living room...

ETA: Vesperholly, wootwoot!!! Lookin' good, girl!

My college roommate had that very dress and I always coveted it!

You look beautiful :)

OOOOH! If my husband forbade me from wearing stilettos, I'd buy 10 pair! I didn't think my husband would like me wearing 4.5" heels. Since they make me 6'2.5" and he's 6'3", I thought he'd be uncomfortable with me being pretty much his height. But, he doesn't mind at all. In fact he likes TALL!

Might be the shoe. I'm not a stiletto (or hell, even plain heels) wearer AT ALL, but I just got these babies (http://www.shoebuy.com/funtasma-lust-3000/266209) in the mail for my Catwoman costume, and ZOMG I can walk in them! I even did a few high kicks to test for balance and totally passed.

My fiance will not complain if I wear them. ;) I will definitely be taller than him with the 4" heels too! He's still debating whether to let me out of the house in the Catwoman getup, though!

I must have missed something, what is the Catwoman costume for?

I have an earlier version of these and no, they don't pinch or cut. Actually I've been wearing Onex for about six or seven years, they just fit my foot well although the wedges are much more comfortable than the plain heels.

And :wall: on this stupid dress. The black Grecian goddess dress came and I'm not in love (although it's much better than the Trina Turk I sent back.) Called over my neighbor to take a camera photo to send to PRkid, who has taken an avid interest in this, and she liked it but wasn't bowled over either. I think the problem is that a 70-year-old could wear it, it actually camoflauges more than I need to. And the high jeweled waist again makes me look too well-endowed.

Neighbor, who is a size 4 Texas girl who looks well-groomed and matched walking her dogs at 5 AM, gave me "her" saleslady at Nordstroms where she buys event dresses. I think I'll try that, a bit of on-site help would be welcome. I don't get stuck very often, but buying dressy dresses is just not what I do. (Thank god. If I had become a diplomat as planned 40 years ago I'd have a lot of cocktail dresses and no tongue from having to bite it all these years....)

ETA: Damn, I want to dress up like Catwoman too.

 Thanks. The gas and tolls add quite a surcharge to the dress, doncha think?

You'll save that back in "no sales tax".

It is tough shopping on line. Especially if you have not seen the garment and/or are not familiar with a garment's/brand's fit. There was a Tory Burch denim dress, that I saw on their web page. Loved it! It came to the top of the model's knee (the model is 5'10" - my height) and had a straight hem. I called the Tory Burch store in the mall. asked them if they had the dress and would they hold my size. I got there, and the dress was at least 6" above my knee. And it had a curved hem, so it was even shorter on the sides. No way I could wear it. My point: very often, they use a sample for the catalog. Then when they actually manufacture the garment, it is different. so, what you see, on line, may not be what the garment actually is. And, if that is not what happens, they will tailor the dress for the catalog model. So, the fit may not be what it appears to be. Another problem is that the fabric is hard to judge in a photo. The fabric can be thinner, stiffer, shearer, heavier, etc. than you expect it to be.
