This is worse, if only because of the price! Did someone actually think this was attractive?

Equally bad!
Both remind me of late 60's - early 70's hippie stuff.

Didn't like it then; like it less, now,

LOL - I had a dress very similar to that one (but it was late 70's, not early 70's).

You're so bigoted. Why don't you want to look like a Bedouin?

The Bedoiun/Swiss maid dress is way better than the $1,200 muumuu, I'll give you that.

So PRLady, have you ever "had your colors done," sounds like you are a "Winter," clear, primary, dark colors. I did 20 years ago, I had a friend who did Color Me Beautiful. I think she classified me as a "Summer" (I was fake blonder then), but I really think I too am a "Winter," often forget, get off track color-wise and get a little muddy. But I think this key is important to clothes looking good on us.

FWIW, I find the color that is supposedly correct in that link, rather unflattering. :shuffle:

Me, too.

And what's with the 70s hippie links in here??? I miss a whole day courtesy of dilated eyes and check back in for all the fashion fun and you all are comparing milk maid outfits inspired by the Brady Bunch on crack...

Those are both in the category of making me wonder what designs failed to make the cut if these did?

And what's with the 70s hippie links in here??? Everything old is new again. Or so they say.

We need myhoneyhoney and Anita18 to come back with more shoe options, and PRLady to step up her dress quest.

i think her hair color, while nice for some, is too harsh for her face. i dont like the "correct" shirt color either but i dont think i would like anything on her until someone softens that hair.

I think the blue looks much better on the woman in the link. That olive green is not good for a red head. That said, it is very hard to really know how the colors look on her in photos. Colors change in photos. And we are looking at projected light, rather than reflected light.

ACK! What happened? This thread was a list of gorgeous dresses then boom... mumu city! lol

I'm STILL waiting for the shoes, 2 are supposed to arrive today. I'm still waiting for 2 dresses too. I'm going to order the Vera Wang's in size 5 today (wasn't available when I ordered the 5.5). I'm looking for python now too.

Since I've lost all this weight barely any of my clothes fit so hubby's given me the green light to shop for new clothes. It's my Mother's Day present. Hooray! I'm so plain though, I usually get my jeans/tops at Target/Ross. I always thought why spend big $$ for stuff I'm going to wear to the kids' baseball/basketball/swim/soccer games? I'm changing, I see the error of my ways. I need to have some dressy staples that will work for occasions like wedding/funerals/fancy dinners in a pinch. I started looking for the LBD or maybe a navy blue instead? I dunno... Since I'm a SAHM I'm also on a limited budget so it's a challenge. I admit it's dizzying AND fun!

This thread is baaaaaad!

Love the lace one, mhh! Can't decide which color I like best. I think the red.

Bluefly is having a sale, so I saw an LBD: http://www.bluefly.com/Halston-Heritage-black-silk-chiffon-ruched-strapless-dress/cat60019/317927401/detail.fly There is no mention of a corset that that's concerning. OTOH, it says it's fitted so perhaps it stays on, dunno.

myhoneyhoney, for a LBD that can be dressed "up or down" for many occasions, I like this:
http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/calvin-klein-petite-dress-sleeveless-seamed?ID=501304&CategoryID=55596&LinkType=#fn=SPECIAL_OCCASIONS%3DEvening/Formal%26sp%3D1%26spc%3D41%26ruleId%3D2%26

I like the lace one also; but, it's not as 'flexible".
