oh is this the anthropologie one? it's really nice. too bad all of the smaller sizes are sold out

Yes, that's the one, but you could do what IA did and call and make them send one from NY for you, too.

And the other one I ordered was the black Grecian one from Saks. Only one stays.

It really sort of is an angel/devil choice, isn't it?

i can imagine wearing them in different settings so why does one have to go back?

this logic is why i have a closet full of dresses

Because I get dressed up a few times a year, they're both sleeveless and not useful in winter and because I just can't justify keeping both. I already bought....a few things...this spring, like three pairs of shoes. I'm saving to buy a new car. There, TMI.

Sure. But worn in November? Not really. And the black one can't be dressed down, it's cocktail/dinner party or nothing. So neither is going to be worn more than a couple times a year.

I amortize. :shuffle:

Get thee behind me, Satan.

They'll both show up and neither will look good. I'm going to sleep, have four days of elder-care in Philly ahead of me. You can come visit me in Jenkintown and debate it in person. ;)

Just call the stores in Houston or NYC directly and ask for them to send them to you. Tell them they are sold out online. Also there are some in Scottsdale, AZ store as well. All per nice Southern gent. :P

Glad you ordered the Grecian one, PRLady. It should be great for the occasion and very flattering.

:shuffle: Again, this is TV, people. In real life...no! But thanks.

Also, I've never heard of Aidan Maddox but I seem to glom onto his dresses. (See, there's this sekret Philly girl who loves flash hidden under this nerdy lady). In other words, I love this, too, and since I'm not nearly as tall as the model, I figure it wouldn't be that short!

Make-up & TV can do just so much. You look great! I am right! Just agree that you look fabulous :)

Love the black dress!

Thoughts?Obviously it could be hemmed, but with your legs, I'd think slightly above the knee would be a better length and play to your assets.

I agree with BB. I don't think this particular length flatters anyone, regardless of height. Ditto on slightly above the knee hemming. But I think PRLady is shying away from the yellow although I hope she'd give it a chance. It looks like a very delicate yellow and if it highlights your olive skin tones, you can return it. I just love the cut of this dress.

Since I ordered the black and white dresses, I'll see how they fit first. Not only am I dubious about the yellow color, and I would have to hem it, but the dress is just a bit too Grace Kelly for rowdy ole me. I either like costume-y dresses like the Grecian model or the white lace, or something just a bit tougher.

I have a friend who is the ultimate Southern girl, a debutante (many years ago) from Charlotte. She wears ladylike clothes from Talbots and J Crew and so on, and they look so nice on her and so silly on me. And it doesn't matter if that's not objectively true, if I FEEL silly done up in ladylike preppy stuff, than that lack of confidence in how I'm presenting is gonig to come through.

That's my overthought philosophy of dressing, anyway.

Belatedly, that is so you. That is the vicious black femmy stuff I referenced a long time ago. :D

I think the black dress can be worn all year. It is dressy, but has no defined season. the white one could be dressed down nicely with flip flops and a denim jacket.
