They're all very pretty! And all so different. The first one is very romantic, the second very ballerina, the third a bit mature (I don't know how old you are, maybe a little too mature for you). I am partial to long for a bride, but that's just me.

All three dresses are lovely, Hedwig.
What "feel"/tone would you like to create?
That might make the choice easier.

Hedwig, you are in your mid-thirties, right? I actually like the third one best but not sure how it will work around the middle. You might want to look for a dress with a romantic, Renaissance-style dropped waist -- they are very kind to bellies. (That's my figure fault, too.)

And German clothes are so cool. I could have bought a lot in Berlin but the stuff was expensive given the exchange rate. However, I now have four pairs of Rieker boots and shoes, YAY for German engineering, they are so comfortable.

(And something tells me the "What Do I Wear" thread is about to become permanent here.)

I see them as:

#1 A nod to a "traditional" bridal look, without being too formal.
#2 "It's a celebration"!
#3 Sophisticated and elegant; a bridal look, in a short silhouette.

How about this floral dress (http://www.ebay.com/itm/261010882084?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_765wt_1163), maybe with silver or whatever color strappy dress sandals?

Too casual...pretty though.

I hope so, this is fun!

Agree about the floral dress. Pretty, but too casual.

Have an appointment, I'll be back!

I am, yeah.

I actually kind of like the third one best as well.

I am not to sure about the other short one as it does not have straps. It has an in-built bra but I never felt comfortable in strapless dresses and I don't know how much the in built bra will help.

But, yeah, not too sure if it is flattering enough.

What is Renaissance-style dropped waist? Is that this kind of dress:

?

And the thread is fun - but most of the stuff is off-line for me as I cannot order it from Europe. Grrr.

No, that's the opposite, a high-waisted Empire cut. This is it, although this particular gown is over the top even by my standards:

Ah, and because someone asked about the tone of the wedding - it will be pretty informal. Beach wedding maybe with a barbecue. We haven't really started to plan yet as it will only be next summer.
So a short wedding dress might be good as it is not too overdressed or formal.

Oh, okay. Are you sure that this works for - ahem - a round belly? I always avoided these kind of dresses as they seem to emphasize the belly part, don't they?

Hedwig, the first dress is beautiful. Completely elegant. The second dress is fun! The third doesn't seem like you (based on your online persona anyway ;) )

myhoneyhoney, you have a rocking body! Congratulations, looks like you've worked hard! I think you could probably wear pretty much anything as long as it works for a short person, lol.

Too sophisticated?

I like all three dresses and they are all so different. This is gonna be a long decision. :) I kind of enjoy it - especially at those prices. ;)

It depends, if they have corsetting, stiff fabric and an only slightly dropped waist, the illusion makes the belly seem smaller. The ones with the really low dropped waist with tight fitting fabric around the belly -- no, you don't want those, avoid those.

(Even when I weighed 118 at my first wedding, at age 28, I STILL didn't have a flat belly.) My wedding dress in 1984 looked like this, except in ivory and with long sleeves: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=1980s+wedding+dress+dropped+waist&hl=en&sa=X&qscrl=1&nord=1&rlz=1T4GGNI_enUS459US460&biw=1280&bih=843&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=u7MSGYuLm4O4oM:&imgrefurl=http://www.areold.com/shippinginfo.html&docid=pBVm1XsxPRaF5M&imgurl=http://www.areold.com/images/bpic/22779607121515173.jpg&w=300&h=400&ei=-LiiT4-7EcL40gG31pjUDA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1043&vpy=126&dur=2413&hovh=259&hovw=194&tx=139&ty=121&sig=103624016840574628683&page=1&tbnh=156&tbnw=115&start=0&ndsp=31&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0,i:83

Maybe not too sophisticated, just not fun enough. The first one I can see you twirling around in, and feeling absolutely beautiful. The second one I can picture you dancing in, the third I can't picture movement with.

When I picked my wedding dress I tried a total of two dresses on and the first one I tried on I felt like I belonged in an Audrey Hepburn movie. I knew immediately that I wouldn't get a chance to feel like that very often and I bought it. I paid a total of $68 for it, lol. But the feeling was priceless. I now buy fancy clothes solely by how they make me feel.
