Think this is the closing number?

Gotta say, Scott can hold is own too. Both of them have an incredible sense of rhythm. Not to detract from their group mates, but you can see that Tess and Scott catch all the syncopations, and they are sharp on the beat. They would be so much fun to go clubbing with. I'd love to see them doing a really urban, sexy and slightly "messy" club number.

I LOVE Kurt's choreo, especially for the closing.

I'm looking forward to seeing the whole Up number. It's a really great idea to homage that scene from the movie. I got welled up....well I always get welled up just thinking about that opening sequence. (I cried "ugly" in the theatre. We're talking, like, audible heaving.)

here there is an interpretation of this hermetic song http://www.webheights.net/speakingcohen/denver.htm#uk
it's full of interesting points.
Btw, whatever you see as the meaning of the song, the program has definitely a modern concept and feeling (reminds of "Exogenesis" by the Kerrs and even "Pina" in some points). What's the point in wanting big music to get global approval, when they are the most refined dancers capable of convey what contemporary people feel, dream and fear?

Ah! That year, CSOI ladies had a different costume than the SOI ladies:

Here's the second part to the Dog Days group number

Seriously, look at Scotty gooo!

He's so incredible. He's unbelievably sensitive to the music, brings out his own character to the dance, he is elegant AND somehow always (for the lack of a better turn of phrase) asserts this strong masculinity in all his movement. He is the ideal male partner.

And do I see shades of Patrick Swayze? I love Natalie/Fabian's Dirty Dancing and damnit that they did it first and we'll likely never see VM cloning that program and that's okay, but man Scott could really rock a sweaty, '80s, bandana and muscle tee'd dance sequence.

Alright end of discussion.

Going back to the clip marikat posted of Tessa and Scott reenacting Up, I love the part Scott takes off his glasses then jumps up and clicks his feet together in excitement about the "baby news."

I love how Scott moves back, takes off his glasses, and then gives her the hug, all exactly in time with the music. He's so good at hearing the music. I love that.

And she touches her belly and twirls around in time with the music as well. They also make sure to hit the pause at the same time and when she stares at him and "stumbles" it's all right in time with the music. I will never stop being in awe of their ability to move with the music. That is why I want to revisit their Hallelujah when I am less crowded with work, I feel I could not appreciate it properly.

Forgive my dumbness, but what are they dancing to in that.....What is the story? Is it from a movie or TV show?

They are dancing to this: http://youtu.be/9yjAFMNkCDo. One the best montages ever made in film history, in my opinion. The music was composed by the wonderful Michael Giacchino. By the way, Married Life won an Oscar for best score.

I cannot watch that and not cry. Up breaks me like no other film and there have been so many great ones, but this one slays me completely.

Oh Thank you so much jl22aries. I loved it. Got a little teary too. I remember watching a preview to that film with balloons on the house...so that's the adventure lol.

Off to watch that dance again :). It will make more sense to me now.

Thanks to all who have posted these links! So great!

Interesting to see Tessa and Scott vs. Ilia and Katia, who played those roles on the US tour....with all due respect to two of the best skaters ever to walk the earth (Ilia and Katia)- I think Tessa and Scott's is 100% better...so sweet and heartfelt

also- sidenote- watch the part where they are doing the waltzing turns. I am pretty sure Scott has his eyes closed...talk about trust and understanding between two people, their first night performing something! who needs to have their eyes open to see where they're going!?!
