I have to eat my top hat now.
The first quad looks cheated (although hard to tell from that video) but still, I didn't expect him to really take his training seriously again.
Hopefully he can keep this up.
I really hope he carries this through. I miss his skating.

Wouldn't it be funny if at the end of the day, Weir and Lysacek end up being the mens competitors for the US at Sochi?

Yep, bit of a wild free leg, but hey, more power to him if he can land them consistently in competition!

Actually I think a combination of clean and inspired Weir and Lysacek at Worlds 2013 can probably get the third spot back for US men.
(Although I think unless Abbott gets his act together, my very prelim prediction for the US world team for 2013 is Lysacek and Farris)

Forgive me if I've missed it, but has Weir made an announcement about competing next year? Or is he ramping up for the year after?
I would imagine Weir would really enjoy being able to compete in Russia in 2014.

Yes. Johnny made the announcement awhile back.

Wild free leg, more height needed. Practice practice practice.

good on Johnny. i like that he is attempting them of some steps, and not just going straight down the ice... transitions are the key!

Is that his competition music he is skating to? Impressive. Appears he is quite serious about his return.
