Reading about other teams SD choices makes me excited to hear what Meryl and Charlie will skate to! :)

Can't wait to hear their music choices.

Anyone know if they are still on vacation? Charlie posted a cute pic with Tanith on Twitter last week somewhere tropical. Hopefully Meryl took off for a fun place too.

It has been really quiet. I don't foresee any music news coming out until Champs Camps. Going on the 3rd year of the SD, IMO it must be really hard to come up with music that someone else is not likely to use. Incorporating all the elements in the program and trying to make it appear seamless could get really tricky.

Has anyone heard anything about the Disson shows? I don't see anything on their website. Don't they usually have them lined up by now?

So it's April 1st again and I didn't realize it? Because otherwise I'm rather confused.

I am completely shocked. There has to be so much more to this story. I don't think you just fire a coach of that caliber without more of a reason than the "kids" wanted him gone.

I am also shocked by this news, and I, too, think there is much more to this story. As someone in the V&M thread pointed out, we haven't heard directly from the teams...I wonder how they all feel about this. I imagine Marina will bring someone else in...I was under the impression that she favoured more open choreography, and Igor was responsible for the more difficult transitions in the programs, and if that is true, I hope her new partner (if she chooses to have one) will fill this role... I just can't believe this.

Are Meryl and Charlie still on vacation? I just wonder how these teams are going to handle the changes.

New edits to the article suggest this was more a conflict between Marina and Igor, as opposed to the top three teams banding together. If one (or more) follow Igor to another rink, we'll know that to be true for sure. Until then.....

Unless some other shocker comes out I can see DW going with Igor...unless they wouldn't want to leave because of schooling.

According to the article, Igor is meeting with Meryl and Charlie tomorrow. It's weird that they're the only team mentioned, but I'm trying not to read into it, as M&C are smart adults (in spite of everyone calling them 'kids') and will do what's best for them.

Definitely. Although this is only if he stays in the US (or more specifically Michigan). I don't think that they'd leave Marina and University to follow him back to Russia or something.

^Yeah, that was my first thought-I could see D/W going with Igor more definitely if it didn't mean uprooting themselves from school. But then, this whole situation was so unexpected that who knows-if Igor moves to another state maybe they'll end up following him.

I just can't believe this.

ETA: I wouldn't mind if they stayed with Igor, as he does include more transitions/void potential in his choreography (though I think he struggles with it a bit somewhat). Hopefully he teams up with someone who would help him not only bring his bring his vision to the ice, but also help with the finesse of his teams.

Comment from Charlie's mom on the article:

This wasn't initiated by the skaters, they are obviously only trying to hang on by the skin of their teeth to continue training while the coaches battle to the death and when convenient, use them as pawns in the fight. This is an old story of "who has control", where egos come into play and team cooperation erodes. The skaters in this scenario are not brats, but victims caught in the crossfire.

I just don't even know :( I feel bad for all of the skaters involved in this mess.
