Assuming same formula as this year-

Seeded, guar. 2, poss. 3: Chan, Takahashi, Hanyu, Joubert, Amodio, Brezina

Places 7-12 at Worlds, guaranteed 2: Ten, Abbott, Fernandez, Contesti, Kozuka, Reynolds

Top 24 SB (currently), guar. 1: Plushenko, Gachinski, Oda, Song, Verner, Contesti, Miner, Han Yan*, Farris*, Rippon, Mura, Brown*, KVDP :shuffle:

*= junior, would need to move up to seniors internationally

Top 24 World Rankings who aren't listed above (currently, may change), guar. 1: Majorov, Machida, Schultheiss, Dornbush. Preaubert is still retired right?

Relevant Statistics

Note that the ISU Rankings will change soon after 2009-2010 data is purged and 2010-2011 data is reduced to 70% of its value. I'm not sure when this will happen.

I'd like to see Miner and Farris get 2 GP events before Rippon gets 2, IMO they've earned it more. Also Dornbush if he bounces back in summer competitions, and maybe even Brown if he choses to move up and starts trying 3a.

Rippon needs to get his 3a under control or get that 4s so that it's at least consistently rotated even if he usually falls on it for me to feel he really deserves to be getting 2 GP events.

I read it somewhere that this would be Kevin VAN DER PERREN's last season.

Additionally, I'm not sure Brian Joubert's status. Currently he seems to be semi-retired. Does anyone know that he intends to come back to full-competition the next season?

My guess is he doesn't compete next season but maybe tries to come back for 2014 Olympics.

That's a thought. Also, after I posted my comment, I realized that France earned 3 slots for the next season's worlds. Wonder if Brian might pull the same routine the next season: no GP but does Europeans and worlds.

You know, French men's field is not as deep as the US'. Maybe Brian might be motivated to secure as many slots for the Olys...We'll see.

I believe Joubert intends to continue. He recently said that his goals are to win CoC and to skate well in Sochi. And he skipped this season's GP because of injury - it wasn't part of the plan. But his home rink closes for major renovations this fall, so I'm not sure what he'll do training-wise. BTW, unless either Joubert or Amodio wants to do three events, the FFSG will need to pick just one for TEB; I wonder what they'll do. My guess is that Amodio will be encouraged to ask for three.

Kevin van der Perren has been retiring for like three years. I'll believe it when I see it.

IMHO, the USFSA would be nuts not to give Farris and Brown some international Senior experience.

I think Joubert will be there next year, cause he said yesterday after LP that he need two good (and new) music for next year. He also said that he had to keep his rythm of training cause he was very pleased with was he acomplished.

Glad to hear he's continuing. :)
