Oh my Pani...I was literally thinking about Radiohead for VM and how/if it would work. Radiohead is my all time favourite band in the entire universe. But would it work? With the Z/S range of movement? I'll just imagine a team, any team, skating to Radiohead.

Its only a little part. To made choice they need to watch all ballet.

I think Scott's comment could be perceived as being disrespectful to the people who organized event, but also to other skaters.

I'm sure Tessa and Scott were exhausted like the other skaters with a long season where they peaked at Worlds. However, I do think it was clear that they weren't into this competition and it seemed they only gave about 90%. Other skaters (i.e White/Davis, Takahashi) knew this isn't the most important competition of the season and were drained by the season, but they still took it seriously, gave it 110%, and left no questions on the ice. Other teams like Italy and France came into this knowing they wouldn't win, but they are having fun with it with enjoying this less formal, more relaxed format and still supported their team.

What really irked me was that Scott is the team captain. Not only did he not show the least bit of team spirit, he's one that's supposed to the supportive and leading the team. He didn't do any favors leading the team. If he feels like that, he should have at least declined the team captain role. It just seems he's bringing the entire team spirit down; this is a team event, after all.

Why show up if you aren't there to give 100%? Weaver/Poje would've great representatives of Canada.

I still love Scott, but I feel like he needs to be called for it, IMO.

Edit: Even using the excuse he was just exhausted, training for an extra two weeks but being rewarded with an all-expenses paid trip to Tokyo and skating in front of a packed house with big prize money coming at the end of it, doesn't seem like hell to me.

THIS^^ You know many men his age are overseas defending their country- These skaters are flying business class, staying in a 5 star hotel and treated like rockstars in Japan all while making a nice payday. Boo Hoo- Get over it, you are an amazing athlete, but you are also an entertainer and sometimes the show must go on even if you don't feel like it.

I am a huge Tessa and Scott fan BTW. I am not a fan of poor losers.

It's just that Scott has emerged this season as a person who has a habit of firmly inserting his foot in his mouth. Because of that, his behavior in the KnC is subjected to much greater scrutiny.

What makes his comment unfortunate is that he is the Skate Canada team captain, so it leaves the impression that he is speaking for the team.

I know he's not speaking for the team because only one member of that team is a jackass.

I have a great idea for V/M: "Midsummer Nights Dream": Tessa can play Titania, and Scott Bottom the Weaver, Jackass ears and all.

In the interest of maintaining peaceful and cordial relations between the threads, I would like to suggest that ubers stay in their own corners...I imagine most people in both threads would rather not engage in fan wars so perhaps it is best for certain ubers not to wander over here and make provocative statements; we will show you the same courtesy.

Fans will defend their favourites, it's what we do. A lot of the people crucifying Scott would be defending the same behaviour in their favourites.

I don't think anyone is saying what Scott said is perfectly fine, just that it's being blown out of proportion. It looks like an unfortunate case of thinking aloud and really, there's nothing wrong with hating WTT, it's saying it out loud that's the problem. I feel like, in general, it's easy for us to sit at our computers and judge everything these people say or do in public. I know I'm glad I don't have people on message boards commenting on my not-so-great moments. Yes, it's part of being in the public eye, but we really don't know the skaters in any real way or what's going on in their lives. One or two comments doesn't define a person.

good points.

Ah! Is that from V/M's new Yankee Polka SD?

Can we move on already? I think we are giving more coverage to WTT than we should. I would not compare this event to the one we will see at the Olympics mainly because no one is pressured into going to the Olympics, being the Olympics and all, you know?

As for music, I keep thinking about modern stuff. Like THIS: http://youtu.be/8Yj0Iwa8_gk and THIS: http://youtu.be/I80pc9jZ_t8. I agree with Pani that it would be absolutely perfect if they used Radiohead, because, well, it's Radiohead.
