You're welcome!

Somewhere, there's a picture of Tessa during their junior years where she has that exact same expression on her face.

ETA: Apparantly, today is the day for pictures. Here's one of V/M + Chan at the World's banquet: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150635685162741&set=a.10150607125487741.380601.108314752740&type=3&theater

Thanks for posting that!

Pani, it's not geoblocked, I had no problem listening to it. It's even downloadable. Anyway, the host is only interviewing Tessa. Nothing really new - she says they're thinking about next season's programs, they want to do something different. She also talks a bit about their strong relationship and mutual trust and I loved that she called it "unison".:)

i really like your description.
imo Pink Floyd represents what ice dance should have become in the last 10-15 years. something that speaks about our time, instead of always 19th century or first half of 20th. otherwise it gets a cliche. T&S can captures the spirit of our age very well. P&B and the Kerrs too.
i believe Pink Floyd was a program that could attract a lot of non-skating fans.
I hope Zoueva goes back to modern music this year as she is very capable of translate it to the ice. but we must consider that her creativity could fade away with the years.
if she wants to go for romance, something in the vein of Buz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet would be good.

Thank you :) I agree with you about hoping that PF was the direction that ice dance would go in. It would be great if more modern dance concepts were being used in routines. Of course I'd still like to see more traditional types of dance, I enjoy most kinds of dance but I do always find myself wishing that teams would show something that spoke more about the times we live in now occasionally. I'm always wondering what routines might look like if done to the music that is in the charts of today or even just music of the last 10 years that isn't a film score or an instrumental of a rock/indie song

I love that photo of Tessa......that is a beautiful smile there, and in the banquet photo, Scott looks smokin', and I got a chuckle out of their matching outfits......wonder if it was planned. I like Scott's longer hair at the front.

link: april 10

it starts 8:30

it is an amazing interview. the interviewer knows his figure skating and he knows v/m so the questions are fabulous and tessa's answers provide some real insight into their training and mindset.

A bit weird for me because I love Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly - but Gene Kelly more. I really like Davis and White - but like Virtue and Moir more. And I am assuming the comparison likens V and M to Astaire and D and W to Kelly?

Tessa is incredibly articulate. It's hard to remember she's 22 years old. Someone said a few pages back something about her being introverted? I actually think she seems incredibly comfortable public speaking, and really adept at mingling. Her and Scott both. So it makes sense they would be invited to functions like the promote London event, they're so natural and well spoken.

Also, Tessa just has a knack for press and interviews. She somehow manages to answer the tougher questions without "skirting the truth" (too much at least) and at the same time somehow maintains a level of PC'ness. She's also to the point, sweet, and not totally rehearsed sounding. It's a gift.
