 What was your dog's reaction when JLo told everyone to vote for DeAndre?

I've got to wonder what contentants like Jessica and Hollie think when they hear JLo urging people to vote for him.

That is how you sing Without You. No one else should be allowed to sing it again, especially on AI.

And two of the bottom three are girls again. :blah: At least they weren't the ones to go home. Maybe Heejun can try out for that comedy reality show.

I'm just now catching up on last night's show. I take it from Allsksate's post that Heejun was booted tonight. Who were the 2 girls in jeopardy?

Wikipedia says Skyler and Hollie were in the bottom 3.

Hollie and Skylar. At least Elise wasn't in the bottom three again. Yes, Heejun went home.

I wonder if the reason they promoted DeAndre so much last night was because they knew they planned to bring Eric Benet on tonight to say how great DeAndre was and they thought it would look bad if DeAndre ended up in the bottom three or, even worse, going home.

Thanks to all. Kinda messed up that Heejun went home after what I thought was his best performance.

It seems Elise was getting a bit of pimping this week (not complaining :).) Up last with an epic song choice; the bit where she sang with Stevie. Getting to borrow Steven's pants...

ITA with whoever said Skylar gives the same performance every week, and I thought she sounded really off in the trio. She looked adorable in her Madonna outfit though. But what's with the long tops? Is she ashamed of her arse. If she is, someone should tell her that trying to cover it up actually draws more attention to it, and if she's got it, she might as well flaunt it.

Deandre was a mess.

So was Joshua, unfortunately. He's talented, and I even like him, but he needs to get a clue. Nobody wants to watch him have a nervous breakdown set to music. Just sing the song.

I went to the bathroom and missed Hollie, but I loved her in the trio. I just really like her for some reason.

Colton can sing but her bores me.

I'm not sure what I was doing during Phillip's performance, but I missed him too. I liked him in the trio. I like him, but he's really only slightly more versatile than Skylar.

Actually, versatility is something that none of these contestants seem to have much of, which I guess isn't necessarily a bad thing. In most cases, I'd rather see t hem doing well inside their box than see them creating a trainwreck outside of it. More power to those who can do multiple styles and do them well. Such performers are rare on this show, at least in recent years.

Am I the only one who liked the trios?:slinkaway

Heejun just couldn't win. TPTB hated him when he wasn't allegedly taking the competition seriously, and they still hated him when he delivered a performance that, by Idol standards, was actually pretty good.

The powers that be gave him a standing ovation last night. It was the voters who didn't support him this week. And it probably had to do not only with his poor performances in previous weeks, but his attitude. A contestant really is not doing himself any favors when he takes constructive criticism poorly, appears not to take a competition seriously when so many others would kill to be in his place, and says he doesn't want to be a star. This show is a pageant. The talent portion is only one part of it.

I liked Heejun - when he was serious. Unfortunately, I think his attitude on previous shows caught up with him.

Elise! I want to see more of that singer.

This past week was one I was happy I watched. I thought everyone stepped up their game - perhaps because the music was something the contestants could relate to. Idol needs to find a way to tap into the singers' own preferences more often.

How

As soon as Deandre went into the falsetto, my dog jumped up and started barking at the TV. He always barks at the TV when he hears something high pitched (and awful!).

 What was your dog's reaction when JLo told everyone to vote for DeAndre?

He wondered if JLo wanted to jump on Deandre's leg.

They must have been horrified!
