That's weird. I think you can get just as much nutrients from blended solid food.

That said- even when I was a young kid (so like 6 or 7?) My Mom would pre-suck a lot of the water out of watermelon for me. I got stomach sick if I ate it otherwise. Needless to say, I didn't eat watermelon very often.

:yikes: :scream:

Does Ms. Silverstone not own a fork or a blender?

Gotta admit, when I first read about this, the first thing that came to mind was the SNL skit for "Pre-Chewed Charlie's" restaurant.

Blenders were invented for a reason.

Ew. Not to mention I am SO prone to respiratory infections I'd probably kill the kid.

That is NASTY!!! There are reports from the ADA (I think) that it's really bad to get an adults saliva into a baby's mouth because it increases the risk of cavities and other oral problems.

Seems to me that if he can't chew it up himself he probably doesn't need to eat it. Maybe I just don't understand......

Actually babies need to practice chewing and eating solids before they can eat what adults do.
He seems a little old to not being able to chew himself.

That being said, I agree with MacMadame. A year of being a parent has taught me to not judge others parenting, as long as the provide food, clothing and shelter for their kids (and are not abusive). What work for different families is different.

What's more weird? Spitting chewed food into your baby's mouth or naming him Bear Blu?
