Ciao tutti! I'm looking for recommendations for a reasonably priced hotel (hopefully under 100 euros/night), preferably in the centro storico of Rome for one night in May. This will be my third visit to Rome but the first two times I had either a free place to stay (uncle's apt. which he has since given up & moved full-time to Trieste) or rented an apt. for several nights with friends so I am turning to the collective wisdom of FSU for help.

I'd also like a recommendation for an airport hotel (Fiumicino) as I'll be flying in late from Malta to Rome & leaving early the next morning to come back home.

Grazie mille!

I am currently staying at the Rose Guesthouse hostel in Rome, it is located 4 blocks from Termini Station and 3 from the Colliseum and the forum and I love it, it ver has a PC in the room.
Its a tiny hostel, only 3 bedrooms, so its really peacefull and the lady who runs it is very friendly and helpfull. I cannot recomend it enough, it is wonderfull.

In a few weeks I will stay in another hostel, near to Fiumicino, so I will tell you how that one goes once I am there.

P.S.: Sorry for the spelling horrors, the PC I am using is not my own.

Try this (http://aenea-superior-inn-rome.h-rez.com/index.htm?lbl=ggl-en) I've stayed there and loved it, booked it with booking.com I think. But it's great location, near Termini but in the Monti neighbourhood , very silent and the rooms are beautiful and well equipped :) Have fun in Rome

In Florence go to the Archi Rossi host el. Its only two blocks from the train terminal and about 5 from the historical part. Its huge, but if you go to a room for only two people with a doble bed you'll get one far way from the noise that goes with the big and crouded rooms. Mine came with a flat TV, a PC and a fridge.
They also give you free breakfast and a pizza or pasta dinner every day excepto saturdays.
We (my boyfriend and I) loved it.

In Cinque Terre we stayed in Hotel Stella Della Marina in Monterosso - reasonable price, good breakfast, fabulous breakfast terrace and great location. They will send a taxi to get you from the station. Hope it's back up and running after the disastrous floods of last year. http://www.stelladellamarina.com/en-hotel.htm
A bit of a description of it here:

In Rome we stayed in the Hotel Principe Eugenio - very much a budget hotel, but a good location (half way between the station and the coliseum), so so breakfast, clean rooms, wifi, and nice people. Family owned. http://www.hotelprincipeeugenio.com/eng/home.asp If this is the same hotel they've either done major renovations since we were there or these pics were taken years ago. Believe me it's much more down home than the pictures show, but adequate enough.

Yep I think Cinque Terre is doing much better now :)
Fan, when I was in Florence and Venice I booked a room here: http://www.foresterievaldesi.it/index.php?language=en
They are usually in the city centre, and very cheap! We were five minutes by foot from piazza San Marco in Venice.
