Of course, all of this is bass-ackwards, from any common sense point of view. For travel/hotel logistics alone, *Worlds* should be in Mississauga, with either Skate Canada or Nationals in London. I haven't looked it up, but it wouldn't surprise me if needed hotel space for these events is inversely proportional to existing hotel space in the assigned host city.
With this type of planning, it is no wonder that there is no title sponsor for SC events....

I was at Skate Canada in Mississauga this past October, and the arena was much to small for a world championships. From what I understand, the JLC in London is quite a bit larger.

I'm so thrilled by this! I've always wanted to see a national championship, and Mississauga isn't too far from where I live. :D

But manhn, London is a whole 3 hour and 20 minute train ride from Toronto! Windsor is a whole 4 hour and 10 minute train ride from Toronto! Mississauga is a whole 1 hour and 20 minute train ride from Toronto!

Actually only a 20 minute train ride from Union Station to Port Credit GO (though granted, a $35 cab ride from there up to the Hershey Centre). Or drive - lots of parking.

Did any Western cities bid on it?

Wow, the GO site had the timing from 1 hour 13 mins to 1 hour 20 minutes, based on the schedule, but there was some walking, too.

Do they ever publicize who bids on events?

Gah, I hate the set up in Mississauga.

Maybe I'll go to US nationals in Omaha instead.

Not especially thrilled with Mississauga, but at least it's convenient to the airport. And I have already booked my room at the Hilton Garden (Trader's Blvd)- the closest hotel. ;)

I like that hotel. It was the skater's hotel for Challenge. I wonder if it will be for Nats too?

I doubt it- it's not really large enough for a Nationals. They will probably go with the Delta Meadowvale and maybe another one in that area.

I like the HG because it's walking distance from the arena.
