They should be considered legends just for skating that music, in the way they did.

it's fun to look back at that season and compare T&S's version with D&S's after a few years. D&S's one seems a little forgotten nowadays.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ChPXvaV01A
a mature, elegant program. but T&S had more fire and colour from the very first time they performed theirs.

Wait, really! How did I miss this! Can you imagine if D&S and T&S had both been healthy at the 2009 worlds skating to essentially the same music! I was never a D&S fan, really, so this must have slipped right past me at the time. Was there any talk that #1 and #2 from the 2008 worlds had the same incredibly unique music for their FD!?!?!

yep, it was quite a coincidence that both teams had selected the same music. there was a survey in Golden Skate about which one fans prefered. Surprisingly (for me), D&S won. http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?26853-Which-Great-Gig-do-you-prefer&highlight=giuliaplum
maybe because i adore the music, but Tessa and Scott make my eyes teary with their interpretation. it was an endlessy cool choice of music. kudos to Zoueva. i was a little stunned to see the costume change. i mean, from all colour to all black. anyway, they looked like movie stars in those black 70's outfits. everything was just glorious!

According to this fluff piece (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM-f6drGSD0), Scott is purposely trying to keep the audience's eyes on Tessa in the FF FD through effective partnering. Perhaps Ms. Anna T is not familiar with Fred Astaire movies? ;)

The All that skate 2011 cast (including Tess and scott) are interviewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ELnJQyrU90

Aww all the skaters really seem to enjoy doing these All That Skate show. I hope Tessa and Scott are in the summer show.

p.s. Scott looks great in this clip.

Interesting article : Ice Dancing With The Stars (http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120315&content_id=27294476&vkey=ice_news)

Would love to see her thoughts on the short dance too (The whole comparing apples and oranges v oranges and oranges idea)

Interesting article, I don't think I notice one over the other when I watch Funny Face, IDK. Maybe it's Tessa's red dress that's making her stand out more to others. I'm curious about what she has to say about the SD too.

Thanks for posting this. Man I feel for Tessa, I can't even imagine how she must have been feeling when the pain returned. If it was me I'm not so sure I would have had the guts to keep pushing through it and continue to look for a way to fight the pain in order to keep skating. Her tenacity with this injury is amazing. And here's to and hoping she really has found a solution for the pain cuz they always say she's ok then a year later they're like actually...

I hope they have blowout performances at worlds and wishing them the best. Do well guys, do well (actually not just well, win the whole thing lol)! Is anybody here going to worlds by any chance.

I feel the same. Its hard for me to read about her injury, becasue so many time we found she was in pain after season were over. She is so brave, so talented.
I hope that Scott appreciate this and see, how strong Tessa is. Not every girl will stay in skating after such injury. O, but we talked about this so many times....
I really hope she will feel better after this WCh, then it was in Moscow.
And i hope they really will skate in there little World in Nice.
Good luck to all skaters, good luck, Tessa and Scott!

As for Anna. I think she didnt made comments about SD, becase she helped W-P and P-B with latin dance, so she could be a little biassed ;)

I'm sure Scott doesn't take it for granted all that Tessa has and keeps doing so they can keep skating (together anyways), he always seems so supportive and what's great is I don't think Tessa would have continued if she didn't love skating, you know? And yes best of luck to all skaters next week.

You know what Pani I didn't think about that, but you could possibly be right and that's why Anna didn't say anything about the SD haha.

I always think he said thank you so much after Mahler beause he was thanking her for continuing inspite of her pain and struggles.

Scott is so supportive of her on the ice before and after the dance - that is so good to see.

Cannot wait for next week.

Best of luck T&S.

French Eurosport did that at the Europeans too. Forget the rest of Europe.
Maybe they REALLY don't like snooker in France.
I should move there :D

Put snooker on pay channel. Let's see how much money they would make !.
It's really sad how skating fans are treated in Europe.
Wall to wall coverage of snooker, tennis & football yet the most important event of the skating year gets bumped to highlights

Thank you for posting this article, HSGP21. Anna is my favourite DWTS pro, so it is really neat to read her thoughts on the FDs. I, too, would love to read her analysis of the SDs. I have a feeling she would be very impressed by Tessa and Scott!

I agree, I think Scott is very expressive and makes a great Fred and it only makes sense that Tessa stands out more. " It feels sometimes maybe she overpowers him. You tend to notice her more. I don't know if it's because of Scott's great ability to partner her and showcase her or it's something he maybe needs to do differently. ..." -- I think this is spot on but I'm not seeing WHY it's something he needs to do differently, especially with this program.

I agree with you. I think they are both doing an amazing job at playing their characters, but I do like how Tessa really shines in this dance (but in a way that never lets you forget about Scott).

When I watch V/M skate, I'm usually not drawn to one or the other over the either; I'm drawn to one unit they make up together when they skate. I'm not paying more attention to Scott or Tessa, but ScottTessa. They really do have that skating-as-one thing down. :)

I totally agree with you. During the broadcast of the FDs at the Olympics, Tracy Wilson noted how "they are an integral part of each other's body movement" (NBC broadcast). I think this perfectly describes V&M's style and is one of the things that makes them one of the best ice dance teams ever, IMO. They really skate as one, using each other's bodies, playing off each other's energy. They respond not only to the music, but to each other, giving meaning to each other's movements.
