I'm doing a series reflecting on 2009 Worlds on my blog, and I have lots of photos of V/M. Here are Part I (http://jennifercomeaux.blogspot.com/2012/03/worlds-2009-nostalgia-part-i.html) and Part II. (http://jennifercomeaux.blogspot.com/2012/03/worlds-2009-nostalgia-part-ii.html) I'll be posting the remainder of the series this week and next!

Wow, Charlie really looks much older with his hair slicked back. I have to say I prefer the curls! :)

I admit while I think Charlie is certainly attractive/cute I've never thought of him as the hunk others do. That was until I re-watched some of the Tangos from the 06/07 season. I'll take the opposite side and say that I like Charlie better with straight, even slicked back hair. His costume also helped. That was the first time I've ever thought of him as being :swoon:.

Who's Elena Grinenko?

This is the only Elena Grinenko I know and she is a dancer and a dance teacher.

Wouldn't a dance like that be a radical change of style for Tessa and Scott if they chose to go along that line?:swoon:

Okay to go back in the thread I just wanna say that yes I would love them to skate to 'River' for their ex. number in the Olys.

Only if you're ready to defend V/M to those who would want to say that River is overutilized music in Canadian skating and would want to link you to Browning and Buttle to prove their point.;)

I was thinking Muriel Zazoui.
Lambiel ? He is so artistic

K& P who can give them the mature yet ethereal love angle.

Some of these may not be COP friendly

If you were thinking of an ex program, they don't need CoP friendly for that.:)

Yet I love the number Kurt did for Patrick and its so different from what Lori does for him.

His latest gala program? I understood David Wilson choreographed it for Chan. Wilson happens to be one of my favorite choreographers and I'd love to see V/M work with him again.:)

gracias for the info! it might sound obvious, but that video really made me realize how their rendition of Temptation respect the moves and the spirit of the rhumba.

Lambiel ? He is so artisticHe has not tried working with sports or dance pairs yet. But an exhibition number would be the way to start, of course. About his work with singles skaters Mishin said (and quite rightly): "He is a good choreographer for his own talent", which means that he mostly gives other skaters the kind of choreo that he himself would do. And, of course, they are not quite that good at it, so the resulting moves or programs don't look as good as if he himself did them. But that approach wouldn't work with ice dancers, so that could produce more interesting results.

i believe next summer will be a lot of curiousity and anticipation for their FD choice. i was not shocked for "Funny face" because i knew it's Tessa's fav movie. maybe next time they do Scott's fav. ^

Elena must love the opportunity to work with ice dancers, and they must love to work with her. Hope she re-invigorates that short dance... I am ready to be blown away by it at Worlds :)

infact, in this article she says it's a thrill for her, who grew up in Moscow and watched a great deal of figure skating on television with her mother.

VarBar - I know Mannish Boy is by David Wilson. Its Viva La Vida by Coldplay that Kurt did for him

Since they wont change their choreographers they should go to someone else for the Ex to learn new nuances/ presentation/ ideas. As you know they do have a lot of input into their choreo and they may be able to use some of these for their FD.

I am confident that anything they do will be wonderful but I think that they above all want to challenge themselves and move in different directions that is why I suggested those people.

Hadnt heard the comment about Lambiel but it could well be valid. I do know that Mishin realizes that his students need to hone up on artistryand some of them go to Colorado Springs.

A new teacher a be perspective but not necessarily a better perspective.

Lots to think about!

Somebody said here some time ago that Scott loves country music, is this genre okay with you? lol

Oh I see, sorry. I do remember that program, it was fun.:)

As lauravvv said, maybe Lambiel working with ice dancers would produce a different result from what he choreographed for other singles skaters where he actually just copied himself. But he doesn't seem to have any experience as an ice dance choreographer and I am not sure I'd like V/M to be the first ones for him to try his hand on.

They really could have been ballroom dancers in another life... I don't think the point that they are bringing the DANCE back in ICE DANCE is hit home enough...people like Tracey Wilson need to start saying it louder because it is really true. I so hope the are properly acknowledged and respected for all they do, have done and will do for ice dance.

Here's another hip hip chin chin that I saw years ago on SYTYCD. I loved that song then and was thrilled when I learned T&S were skating to it.
