I admit, I have not seen The Descendants but I was only making a joke. To somewhat answer the question, though, I have never seen even one movie where I felt George Clooney was playing someone other than George Clooney. NOT.A.SINGLE.ONE. Even in something like Men Who Stare At Goats it was just George being silly, he never became someone I had not seen him be before. My opinion, though.

Good Night and Good Luck? Up In the Air? Syriana? Oceans 11? Allt he same?

I'm loving the Ellen JC Penny commercials.

You know, the best part of this broadcast has been the Oscar-inspired commercials.

I kind of hope Michelle Williams pulls the upset if Meryl can't win just so everyone has something to talk about tomorrow. But that isn't really fair because I think Viola Davis is great. Ohhh...how about a TIE!?

I agree ! IMHO his best work was actually on ER :shuffle:

It would have been great if Natalie said "George, you did what you always do! We could watch any of your movies to have seen your performance but thanks anyway.."

THIS!!

I have never gotten the Clooney buzz. He might be a perfectly nice guy, but I'm sick and tired of seeing him gushed over for playing himself every single damn time!!!

1 Excellence. 2 Excellence. 3 Okay. 4 100% George.

Unfortunately, IMO, in The Descendants he was "100% George" far more than the character. The role could've been legendary in other hands.

Maybe the votes will be split between Viola and Meryl so Glenn Close will win. :EVILLE:

Nah, it's going to be Viola.

I'm not saying he's a brilliant actor. I just don't buy the idea that he's always the same and always George. Plus, those kinds of comments aren't particular persuasive when made by people who haven't seen the movie.

Wouldn't that be wild! It'd surely give this telecast something memorable ... at long last.

@TVGuide RT @capricecrane George Clooney and Brad Pitt both lost. They will cry themselves to sleep atop their hot women & piles of money. #Oscars
