Have you seen both The Descendants and Oceans 11? And you think they're the same? That makes almost as much sense as some of the similar comments about Meryl Streep's sameness across all her roles. ;)

I thought Clooney was absolutely great in The Descendants.

I'm still rooting for Dujardin, but I won't be mad if Clooney wins. I won't even be mad if Pitt wins- he was very good in Moneyball.

Whoa, upset of the night so far! :eek:Huh? He won the Golden Globa and the SAG and was the heavy favourite in this category.

I don't think it's such an upset? I thought a lot of people were picking Jean Dujardin to win... :shuffle:

I thought he was predicted to be the winner. Didn't he win the SAG award?

George was still the one everyone expected to win from everything I read these last few weeks. It's not a huge upset but I was surprised.

He gave a great speech! I like that guy. :)

I admit, I have not seen The Descendants but I was only making a joke. To somewhat answer the question, though, I have never seen even one movie where I felt George Clooney was playing someone other than George Clooney. NOT.A.SINGLE.ONE. Even in something like Men Who Stare At Goats it was just George being silly, he never became someone I had not seen him be before. My opinion, though.

I was hoping Beshir would pull the upet, but I knew he wouldn't.

I think it will be Viola Davis and The Artist next.

I was hoping Gary Oldman would pull out the dark horse win................It's so absurd that this was his first nomination.

I didn't hear anyone predict George to win, at least not anyone who follows this kind of thing.
