I think it's fair, though, to expect that he will be a shadow of his earlier form. He didn't have much competition at Europeans.

I don't anticipate what will be. I only care about what happens. No one knows who will skate at Sochi nor how they will do. Even Chan.

He better not hurry back to the ice. I hope he learned his lesson last time.

I wish him a complete and speedy recovery.

Other skaters had the opportunity to win Europeans and they flat out fell apart in the free skate; whereas, Plushenko owned the ice and skated away with the gold. The others were like nervous little boys next to a confident man.

I was at Sheffield Arena and, although kind of expected, it was surprising to see how much in panic were all the others, except maybe Gachinski. Basically, during the warm up, they were all grouping in half of the rink, obviously not the one where Plushenko was!
Anyway, I agree with what others said..He and his team seems to know exactly what they need, don't know with what kind of programs they'll come, but surely they'll do their math...

Gosh, this reminds me of a Youtube clip I saw with Mary Lou Retton, about how she had to get a hip replacement and how great her doctor was. Here's the clip:

Instead of advertising his skills, in the back of my mind it really felt like a warning not to take up gymnastics at the elite level.

Wow what a video :-(. Interesting.

E. Plushenko tweets "good news about the back, no surgery required."

HOORAH!!! Hopefully we'll see him back in action this fall, in time for the G-P Series.

Saying he competes for passion/ love of the sport is an insult to all of the coaches, show producers, judges, choreographers, show skaters, federation admin, etc.. Who work their asses off making the sport happen and don't hog the limelight he's obviously addicted to. Jmho.

yes, because he only cares about being in the limelight
not to mention he has done all he can just to compete again and is not working his ass off as Pluschenko is not making any contribution to the sport
as it happens.
