Just last night I happened upon Waiting to Exhale on cable. She was the background voice of my 20's. :( Such a sad end. Feel so sorry for her daughter.

I know I shouldn't be that suprirsed, but I gasped when I saw the news greeting me when I logged on.

Her rep is the one who released the info. So, it's almost certainly true. :(

I saw a picture of her on Perez a couple nights ago and she looked rather drunk sadly... Such a sad end. She was one of the greatest voices I've ever heard... So utterly tragic... I'm in a state of shock...

I was never a fan of her music, but she had an incredible voice, and her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at the 1991 Superbowl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llFZT6CTXz8) still sends a shiver through me whenever I think about it.
