Like David Bowie hung? Cuz Mr Bowie is seriously packing. At least he was in The Man Who Fell To Earth.

Never mind Oleada, you can have Tatum, I'll take Fassbender instead.

Meryl was good but other actresses could have done an equally good job namely Helen Mirren, Michelle was just better and had the more challenging role.

Helen Mirren also has a knock-out body that allow her to wear somewhat sexy outfit at her age. I think Streep can only go for matronly.

So, as everyone's been saying for awhile, it looks like The Descendents vs. The Artist for Best Picture.

Well who to say someone talented like Jennifer Lawrence couldn't have done what Michelle did? I don't think it's a sure thing that Mirren could've done Thatcher justice.

and Ricky Gervais was waaayyy tamer compared to last year. Me thinks HFPA put him on a tight leash despite what he was saying about saying what he wanted to.

I agree. Plus they probably hired him back hoping for better ratings, with all the hoopla leading up to tonight.

Meryl played Margaret Thatcher as Julia Child? Wow. That must of sucked. Kind of surprising given the range she has shown before, from Sophie's Choice to The Devil Wears Prada, to Mama Mia, etc.

The problem I have with Meryl is that she does the same mannerisms in almost all of her roles, the way her body moves, her eyes shift, etc.

That's why I loved her in Julie and Julia and Adaptation because I thought they seemed the least Meryl. I haven't seen The Iron Lady yet, but I do want to despite the title figure.

I missed the show, but I did enjoy reading this thread just for reading people complaining how their favorite shows were robbed when they probably haven't even seen the other nominees that did win.
