That's why I'm really surprise at kids and junior skaters.
At my rink, there are some young skaters (12 y.o.) who Flutz so badly on double jumps. But the coach never says anything.
After many years of thinking and wondering about this........it just occurred to me that the reason the coaches don't do anything is that the work of the skater would increase and the results would decrease and the frustration of the skater would increase, the quest for quick wins would be delayed, and the kid would quit, or the mother would pull the kid to another trianor!

One thing I never understood is why Midori has a reputation of having a wrap on her jumps. I don't think she had a wrap as much as just having a high free leg. Nakano, meanwhile, is the definition of wrap. I never had any trouble counting the rotations of Midori's triples, but there were times where the leg was so distracting on Nakano that I didn't know if she completed a triple or a double.

Midori had leg wrap but it tended to be more severe in the first rotation of a triple and then she pushed the leg down and into a better position to speed up the rotations and get the triples around. It worked well for her, allowing her to get huge height.
