:yikes: I leave the room for 5 minutes and it's 4-0  Rather predictable I suppose.

As much as I love Roger, he SO pisses me off at times! WTF with his level of play today? With the defeat of Nadal, he should have come out with guns blazing. He is not playing like a player looking to win his 17th major and possibly the #1 ranking.

And yes, what's the deal with the closed roof? It had stopped raining many hours ago.

Federer down two sets. :(

He really needs to start his matches more aggressively. Sometimes I think he waits too long to turn his game on.

Unfortunately his first two matches were so easy for him he rarely had to get his game going. Hopefully he can turn this around.

I'm rooting for Federer but the minute I turn it off he starts playing better. This has happened before. I know I'm a jinx! ;) I'm not turning it back on.

His fitness isn't as good as Roger's. But I won't relax till it's over.
You got that right!

I wouldn't mind Federer going out, it would stop the media going on and on about poor Rafa. :shuffle: I know that's selfish but I can't get away from it and it's depressing me. :P

I suppose they keep the roof closed all day as a precaution - the weather is anything but settled here. Perhaps they also want to keep it as fair as possible, so instead of having part outdoor/part indoor matches it's uniform from start to end? Closing the roof mid-match involves a twenty minute break (or thereabouts) which I think some people feel is too much of a disruption and potentially effects the course of the match. Just a thought, I don't know how and why they decide to keep it closed

I don't think he's ever played with the roof closed, has he? It changes how the ball bounces and I believe, gets incredibly humid.

What separates the top players from the others is their ability to hang in there, even if they're playing flat or having an off game/set/whatever. Part of the game is knowing while your opponent is on a good streak whether or not they can keep it up. Roger's specialty throughout his whole career seems to be coming back from the brink to win it in 5 sets.

I believe that was the reason given as they closed it first thing due to the rain at the start of the day and as they predicted passing showers on and off all day they decided to keep it closed. Of course it stayed fairly nice - though windy - all day!!
