Paszek! :cheer: Good for her. I remember her awesome match against JJ in Australia a few years ago with those insane match point saves from Jelena.

Wozniacki out in the first round, and Stosur out in the second to Aranxta Rus. Rus has had some really good results in slams lately...

Last year's Wimbledon, Paszek played an incredible match against Frankie S, won it in 3 sets too.

Rus is a really nice game. Lots of variety.

#11 seed Li Na goes down in two sets. 3-6, 4-6.

S. Cirstea having a fantastic summer so far. I'm convinced Na and Stosur's GS wins were a fluke. Both of these players should be dominating on grass.

Both lost to players who are on the rise,

Sam has never been good on grass.

which makes absolutely no sense with her serve and forehand. Granted the backhand is a liability and her kick serve isn't as effective, but still, there's no excuse for how poor her results have been. The Aussies as a whole have been just dreadful at this championship. Only one woman in the second round and none of the men made it in including former champ Hewitt and last year's QF in Tomic

:shuffle: I have to ask... what did Leander Paes do that was so bad?! No one seems to want to pay with him - I was shocked years ago when B/P stopped playing together as they were so good - and now no one else seems to want to play with him either! I have been reading the latest articles and Sania seems terribly upset that she has been 'used' to secure his playing in the Olympics - and feels that Bhupathi could have done something, but could he?? (And he has said today he will play with her if he can.)

I have read what was posted a few pages ago in this thread but I am still confused... sorry! :o

Harrison playing well - it's just that he is playing Nole :P

I don't know specifics, but I heard he's generally an asshole.

I also wanted to add that :respec: to Sania's statement.

From what I can gather over on Tennis Forum, Leander is a bit of an arrogant and pompous jackass who thinks extremely highly of himself. Apparently his father wanted a written agreement from the AITA that he would only play with his men's doubles partner on the explicit condition that he play mixed with Sania at the Olympics. He thought playing with this younger and more inexperienced was "beneath" him as it were and thus demanded he play with Sania at the Olympics. Bhupati and Bopanna don't wan't anything to do with him and have had their own success. the AITA is being absolutely retarded by not pairing Sania and Mahesh at the Olympics, they're two time grand slam champions and represent one of the best chances of a medal in any sport for a country that tends to win very few Olympic Medals. It makes zero sense. If I were the AITA, I'd let Leander putz off and take my chances.

Do have to hand it to Sania though for being classy about this whole situation.

Same. I don't understand why AITA is catering to Leander Paes when Mirza/Bhupati are very much a medal threat.

Thanks very much for the info :40beers:

How sad for all of them - I hope whatever happens they can all enjoy the Olympic experience (and I hope Sania and Bhupathi do well next week in the Wimbledon mixed doubles!)

Nice interview with Aggie Radwanska

A Radwanska interview about her play so far this year (http://www.tennischannel.com/index.aspx#ooid=1xazI5NTpx3vx6CeLhvFRo9HJ0LxxVPI)

I think Aggie has really good chance to make it to the semis and possibly a final. The variety of her game can hurt alot of players on this surface and especially Sharapova, Serena and Petra.

I agree Radwanska can make the semis or finals here. I am not sure if I could see her winning the 7th match though if she gets there to win the title. I wouldnt mind if she did, just not sure if she has that in her at this point.
