I think Murray is going to have to good season at Wimbledon.

The Women's field is wide open. I think Maria S will have a harder time getting to the final than last year. Sloane Stephens, Vera Z, Kim C and McHale are in her draw. All them move better than Maria. Maria does not have a good records against Kim. Sloane has the game to challenge Maria's movement on this surface. Usually, the best athlete, the players with best variety, serve and movement win on the grass.

I'm thinking Maria may go out in the 4th round or quarters this year.

Nalbandian was a fool but people can't seriously think he INTENDED to injure the linesman?!

Anyway, there's nothing quite like the first day of the Big W. I'm at home, watching on the folks' massive flatscreen, feet up, surrounded by cakes, and loving the look of fresh grass courts :inavoid:

Venus is already down a set in her match. It's sad but Venus should just retire, the illness is just too much to recover from. :(

Vesnina is such a headcase that I won't count Venus out, but yeah, I agree.

ETA, well never mind that! Congrats to Vesnina.
I wish Venus would retire after the Olympics.

I wonder if Vee is waiting for the Olympics is done before considering retirement. She is really a shadow of her former self and I'd like her to go whilst people can still remember her as she was when she was top. She is already a cert for the hall of fame and doesn't need to keep playing.

I'm assuming my invite got lost in the mail. :drama:

May I also say, I like ESPN's new broadcasting theory of showing everything live. :)

Venus' interview was weird. Does she really think she's not struggling?

I didn't think Wimbledon.com did "live matches".

I'm watching the matches online with ESPN

It seems they were showing *something* (I think it was the Djok match), now it says it will be back at 2pm Eastern. Probably fluff. :(

:cheer2: ESPN!!! :cheer2:

And Oudin is out in the first round to Timea Babos from Hungary.
