This is my prediction - Ladies final: Kim Clijsters v Petra Kvitova - Kim to win in three sets.

From everything she has been saying, this is probably going to be Kim's last year on the circuit. Hence, here's hoping Kim wins Wimbledon and the Olympic title and goes out with a bang as those were the two titles that motivated her to come back in the first place.

With Wimbledon and the Olympics played on grass no way Kim wins either one IMO. In fact I doubt she makes it past the quarters of either event. A good ending to her career would be to win both hard court slams or maybe win the French she missed out on in 2001. A major grass title will never happen for her.

With this group of ladies I would never say never. If Serena is out and a few others have problems or bad days then she could sneak into the finals somehow and once there just play lights out and hope for the best. Very unlikely though.

Oh no Kim! She rolled her ankle! :(

No worries, Li Na's doing a fine job of choking the match away.

Congratulations Kimmie!! What a come back and what a fighter. A horrible ankle injury and 4 match points down. Moreover, that match has played her into form and removed the rust from the long layoff. On course to retain her title. Hope the turning of the ankle has not left any lasting problems that will impede her progress.

Very rarely do sports results upset me. I don't get THAT involved/take them that seriously/I DO have a life etc. etc.

.... however....

I actually want to cry.

Why, Na, WHY?! :(

Big congrats to Kim, of course.

Na Li :(

I love Kim so it wasn't going to be an awful result no matter what but Na Li should have won.

I was sarcastic earlier but really did feel horrible for her. Losing the tiebreak that way in particular was brutal, that match will hurt to recall for sure. :(

Meanwhile, bye-bye Serena.

Is it just me or is Gasquet only featured in the US when he loses?

Serena out. Zheng out. Jelena out. Li out in a nightmare way.

Yup, I am over the womens tournament.

I'm just as glad Serena's out. This Sharapova-Lisiki match is a good one.

Just woke up and am shocked by the Serena result

Makarova in straights? Really?

Serena is 30 years old now. No players win alot of big titles at that age. People need to get used to thinking of her in the twilight stage of her career. People already think that way of Venus.
