Nalbandian was robbed.  Crappy way to lose such a close match to Isner, though credit to John for pulling it out.
Yes, the ump's refusal to allow a challenge was odd and would rightfully piss any player off. (Those are the kind of things that usually only happen to Serena and Venus.)

But, that call had less to do with Dave losing this match than the fact that he lost his serve the next game. If he had won the next game, then everyone could shout WUZROBBED a little more loudly. Instead, without the overrule, the stats say that they'd have still been on-serve at 9-9. As Dave allowed later, it was ultimately his fault (and Isner's credit) that this match ended with the John advancing.

My new crush: Christina McHale! :cheer: Love her game. Crisp shots, great movement, good head on her shoulders.

She's definitely undersized, but her footwork and racket speed give her shots almost as much oomph as what she's getting from her big babe opponents. I see her offing Jankovic [tonight?], to make the R16. Good future ... top 20 material.

Um...better luck next time? :yikes: I do think this will be good experience for her.

JJ has decided she knows how to play tennis again. NEXT! Anyway, I don't think McHale has much in the way of shotmaking capabilities. Everything about her seems competent - but nothing is great, IMO. And I'm glad JJ proved all the people on ESPN wrong.

(You know I'm a JJ uber)

Anyway, some interesting 4th rounders in the women. Li vs. Clijsters, Wozniacki vs Jankovic, would love to see Sharapova against either Lisicki or Kuznetsova.

L_S, I like Kvitova too.

What happened with Tomic?

I missed the actual Tomic drama, but he is being accused of cheating from all directions. I need to find out more...

I would give ALOT to see JJ beat Caro. Please let it happen!

Milos Raonic is now an honorary American per ESPN. :P Or at least the "North American representative"...

In all seriousness, the US is still relying on Serena Williams and that's *not* a good thing basically ten years later. :(

Fingers crossed for Raonic against Hewitt! Shame it's such a late match here.

Holy Moly... upsets on the women's side

Vera Z lost in straight sets as did Marion B. The number 7, 8, 9 seeds out of the women's side.

I barely realized Novak's match was on and then it was over.

It is kind of crazy that he said he didn't challenge, but he didn't stop play, right? I'm not sure he actually broke the rules, so why lie about it?
