Did I miss something? Why do people hate Bartoli so much?

I don't hate her. I actually like her.

'Hate' is far too strong a word - it's true I find her annoying, but it's Martic winning more than Marion losing that I'm so satisfied with. It's great to see a young female player with a game like hers - variation, a slice BH as well as a double-hander, good FH and a great service action. She's fit, in-shape and plays in a way you don't see too often on the WTA. It's a change from the usual ballbashing or 'pushing'.

About an hour ago I was expecting Murray to shake Nieminen's hand and retire at the end of that first set as he looked as if he could barely walk - and I think Nieminen though the same - especially when he went a break up at the beginning of the 2nd set. After all Murray has had the trainer on 3 times in the 1st set. But somehow Murray has fought his way back and though not moving as well as we all know he can he has suddenly found a 2nd wind from somewhere and is now level at a set a piece and 3-0 up in the 3rd set

My problem with Bartoli is that eye sore of a technique she has :yikes: (those wrists are going to be blown in no time...)
Also the daddy issues.

Hate is a strong word, but I really dislike her as player.

Yikes - Isner is heading for another long match again this time against Paul-Henri Mathieu - it's currently 11-10 to Mathieu in the final set!!!

14-14 now - this could go on for a while!!! The crowd are certainly cheering for PHM - and I admit to having a soft spot for him after the injury he suffered last year!

^....and obviously he couldn't take them. I don't really like Isner that much, but he has been so cool under pressure. How many chances does PHM want?!

Officially the longest set in French Open history. How does this keep happening to Isner?

And Matthew finally gets the match point!!!

Aww, I feel bad for Isner, he looked so spent out there, but this will give him a chance to rest up and get ready to go on the grass.

Good for Paul-Henri, he's really dropped down the last couple years but maybe this will give him a bounce in his step that he needs to come back successfully.

Am I allowed to say how thrilled I am for Canadian Tennis in general? Aleks Wozniak is BACK, she'll be top 50 and is a lock for the Olympic Games. Milos Raonic has exploded the last couple years and will vault into the top 20 after this. Vasek Pospisil will also get to go the Olympic Games with Daniel Nestor is obviously Canada's greatest ever player, and they are NOT to be discounted, they have some extremely impressive Davis Cup wins together including over the likes of teams like Erlich/Ram who have won a grand slam together. I hope they will team together for a couple of events on grass before the Olympics so they can get the feel for it together. Raonic and his serve and healthy, could do some heaping damage at Wimbledon and the Olympics. I also hope that Danny and Aleks get a chance to play mixed at the Olympics, I think they could be a legitimate threat there as well. They played together a couple years ago at the Aussie Open and made it to the quarters where they lost to the eventual champions in a third set tiebreak, so with Daniel's serve on grass, and if they find that magic again, they could find themselves near the podium! Canadian Tennis is at it's brightest these days.

I can't remember the last time both Williams sisters were gone before the third round of a slam (not counting injuries of course). Also see that Razzano lost, probably just spent from the emotion of the win over Serena.
