I must admit, I like a good comeback story. Brian Baker defeated Monfils to get into the Nice QF. Granted Monfils probably shouldn't have played this soon yet but he's always injured so whatever. For those who don't know, Baker was a standout junior who beat the likes of Monfils, Tsonga, Baghdatis, Djokovic etc but then...got injured. I think he and Tommy Haas could write a book on the surgeries they've had. Either way, it's good to see that he still has some life on him. And he's an American who actually likes clay so I'm happy he earned the wildcard for Roland Garros. Deserved.

Baker won his first-round match! And Mattek-Sands and Lauren Davis defeated seeded players in the first round. I think this is Davis's first ever win on the pro tour?

Da Feck is going on with Serena? She looks like she's about to lose to Razzano?! Doesn't look like she's injured to me? Just completely deflated and letting Razzano dictate...

ETA - Razzano nervous, Serena gets one break back... Me thinks Serena might be on her way back...

It's happened! Serena is gone in the first round of a slam for the first time ever!

I'm glad for Virginie to have this kind of a moment after losing her husband to cancer. I'm sure he's smiling up above today!

I can not believe though that Serena lost after the way she's played on clay this year... wow
