Murray lost in straight sets to Garcia Lopez last night :shuffle:

Myskina had her third baby boy, named Pavel. Mazel tov to her! With 3 boys she'll be busy :)

WTF Murray? Guess he joins the upsets on the women's side.

. . . such as McHale d. Kvitova.

I don't really consider Kvitova that much of an upset. Petra is truly, spectacularly awful on US hard courts and McHale has had some nice wins over the past six months.

Murray...I don't even know what that display was. GGL is a really good player (headcase) but Murray should have won.

Kvitova only just started training after an injury a few days ago....but McHale's win is definitely quite good.

McHale is playing well. Sloane Stephens lost to Kerber but it was hard fought match.

Too bad for Vania King though, walk over in the 3rd round.

McHale lost to Kerber today, as well - after having 4 Mps :fragile:

This is the first time I've watched Raonic play for an extended period. Very impressive 21-year-old! Thinks as well as hits big.

According to Wikipedia, he's "only" 6'5". True? He looks at least 6'9" out there, and I think three-quarters of it is legs!

Anyway, good match between him and Fed.

Wozniacki lost to Ivanovic 3 &2

03-14-2012, 02:56 PM
I saw the match starting halfway through the first set. Wozniacki was woeful. She just did nothing with the ball and had no gameplan. Unlike before, she was making tons of errors off both wings. She hit only 4 winners and over 20 UE.

With the combination of the surface and Wozniacki's powder puff game, the balls were just sitting up for Ana to smack them away. She actually bore some resemblance to the player who won the the 2008 French Open. She hit some gorgeous forehand returns, and even won the backhand/backhand rallies. She still caught the toss a bit, but her serve was mostly clicking and she hit a good amount of aces. THe point to go up 5-2 in the second was absolutely gorgeous - very long rally which Ana won with a sweet backhand volley. I'm not a big Ana fan, but she played quite well.

^I just watched it; I don't think it's a massive overstatement for me to say that Wozniacki looked like a decent top 50 player, and nothing more. Ouch.

Well, that was a giant FCUK YOU from Azarenka to Radwanska. I've never been sadder to see a player not get double bageled :drama:

It was so clear that Vika wanted that double bagel, so, so badly, too.

I actually wanted that double bagel as well-the handshake at the net would have been awesome. I'm no fan of Vika but I appreciate how she's been the one to step up and add some stability to the WTA. I appreciate Screamapova's attempts as well--the WTA needs them, even with their shrieks. Kvitova has to sort out her issues. Hopefully Ivanovic can turn a corner for the clay season.

I like Vika, and I like that she let her tennis do the talking rather than mouthing off to the media like Radwanska did. Though I can't lie; I'm a fan of the drama.

And I agree that the WTA needed someone to take charge.

Oh, Michael, that was ugly. No. :cold: "putain Chinoise"
