Holy Crap!! Someone want to explain to me how the boys will top these two Semis in the Final on Sunday? What a couple of days of tennis this has been. WOW!!

Murray. :( Great match though (what I saw of it).

I hope Vika wins tonight! :cheer:

Epic match. Epic! Both men's semis were terrific matches, with Murray v. Djokovic just amazing. I was stunned that both men were still on their feet at the end of that. Very impressed with Murray, even though he wasn't quite good enough. IMO, Lendl's rule about not looking at, not talking to his box during matches all by itself is a wonderful thing for Murray's focus. And damn, did you see how Lendl looks? I would not want to disappoint that man. Some serious gravitas there.

No favorite for the women's. Just hoping for a brilliant match and may the better woman win. (And may my speakers not blow out. :) )

And I've decided to DVR this final ... and play it on mute after I've read my morning papers.

Who's had a perfect week? Taylor Townsend, who won Aussie Open titles in both the girls singles and girls doubles.

Goooo, Bethanie!

I've decided I want Vika to win.

For a minute there I thought she was going to be totally overrun but seems to have got her nerves under control so hopefully it will be a good final - bar the shreiking of course :)

Congrats to Vika! What a complete beatdown!

I had a feeling she had a good shot based on her record against Maria on hard court, but wow.

Well once she settled those nerves she just steamrollered Maria - well done Viki the new Aussie Champion and world number 1:encore: And the shrieking didn't really bother me - I guess because it came from both of them.

I didn't know Meilen Tu, former US player, was the wife of Azarenka's coach Sam Sumyk, as well as Vika's manager.

Really classy speech from Maria, but you can tell she's absolutely devastated :fragile:

I really think she may be hard pressed to win another slam with the new faces coming through. As the british commentators were saying she just doesn't have the foot speed that some of the women have and her 2nd serve just doesn't cut it.

Anyways Viki is a well deserving champion and she seems like a sweet person.

I know. I really hope she does. I really admire her from coming back after her severe injury. It's not been an easy road, as we all know. I'd love for her hard work to be rewarded as well.

Vika is undefeated this year - won both Sydney & AO. In terms of the next slams, I can't see her winning Wimbledon, but she will be a huge threat at the FO and USO.
