Petra Kvitova has just annoyed me :o How many chances did she actually want before throwing it away?! Ugh.

Well done to Maria. You can never count her out!

Kim's performance was bizarre. Amazing second set to absolutely god-awful and puzzling errors at crucial moments in the third. What an anti-climax it was after that epic 4-2 game, when it seemed Clijsters was back in it and the crowd were going crazy. To be honest, the total lack of support Vika gets actually makes me root for her.

What an ironic final match-up it is, with the recent increase in complaints re: grunting.

Petra played awful for her standards and still should have won vs a very in form Maria.

I am rooting for Azarenka in the final, and I think she will probably do it. Her semifinal with Kim was actually a pretty good match and she had to outfight Kim to win it, unlike Maria who was simply gifted by Kvitova's barrage of errors and choking.

Nadal deservedly won the match. I was rooting for Federer, but unfortunately I don't think he has it in him to beat either Nadal or Djokovic in grand slams.

Bernard Tomic's standoff with Police (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/tennis-busted-racquet/teen-star-bernard-tomic-bizarre-standoff-police-084324107.html)

Tomic and his $150,000 car are familiar to Gold Coast police. He was accused of hooning (the Australian term for drag racing) in December.

$150,000 orange BMW!

The problem is his head. Rafa is well and truly inside it.

Fed fans used to be the main people laughing at Roddick's H2H versus him but this is what happens when you meet someone a lot and they get inside your head. You can't beat them no matter what.

Since Azarenka won over Clijsters, I was rooting for Petra just because I couldn't take a Vika/Maria final. Alas, this is what we will have. I'm going to root for Maria but I don't care if Vika wins. Petra is disappointing. She's going to be another flash in the pan who should be great. If only she had Maria's fighting spirit, she would be invincible. She should be rolling over everyone, not going back home.

Tomic is an idiot. There's nothing else left to say.

This final is going to be the one that results in some serious talk about the shrieking. Watch! I think something may finally happen.

Eek. What a loud final that will be. Not sure i will be able to stand watching it. Monica Seles, apart from your great accomplishments, what a lasting legacy you've created!!!

As for Fed, yup, for years I've been thinking Rafa is in his head and he was again here. I don't feel that Rafa outplayed him so much as Roger made unforced errors on big points.

But, on the flip side, Novak seems to be in Rafa's head. Last year Novak seemed to befuddle Rafa every match, they were not even really close matches. And yet, Roger doesn't seem to have that issue with Novak. In those matches, it's usually just a good tennis match where great shots are made and whoever wins, wins. You don't get that "head case" impression when Roger plays Novak. Nice little circle we have there...

For the men's final, I would like whoever wins between Djokovic and Murray. It'd be nice for Murray to win overall, but I have doubts he'd be able to beat Rafa, so, c'mon Novak!

:cheer: Rafa :cheer:

Go get 'em in the final ... though I may root for Andy if he makes it there.

C'mon Murray

Yikes - Murray level of play just dropped several levels in that 4th set - he has handed the momentum back to Novak. Let's see if Murray can dig deep in the 5th set now!!

Match reaches 4 hour mark, Nadal will be very happy

Wow, Novak breaks Andy for a 4-2 lead in the 5th set, they both hold serve to make it 5-3, and then Novak has a chance to serve it out for the win, but instead Andy breaks back. They're now back on serve at 5-4 in the 5th set. Wish I could be watching this match instead of just following it on the IBM SlamTracker here at work.

Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka set for shrieking showdown (http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/tennis/maria-sharapova-and-victoria-azarenka-set-for-shrieking-showdown/story-fn77kxzt-1226255722455)

TONIGHT'S shrieking showdown between Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka could see fans endure more than seven high-pitched grunts a minute and up to 1000 wails before match point.

Analysts predict the pair could scream their way into the record books, leaving fans to either mimic the centre-court war cries or reach for the volume control.

Long recognised for her high-pitched squeal, Sharapova faces some tough competition against Azarenka and her longer lower-pitched bawl.

Millions are set to watch the 7.30pm stoush, with thousands live at Rod Laver Arena already contemplating the centre-court sound barrier.

And Murray loses his serve while trying to send the 5th set to a tie breaker (this after missing out on several break point opportunities at 5-5). Murray is out, Djokovic is in.

#1 vs #2 for the title.

Wheee, DJOKO!!! :cheer2:

I feel bad for Murray - that's a loss that will haunt him for a while.
