SEOUL, Jan. 2 (Yonhap) -- A Seoul court on Monday ordered the former agency of South Korean figure skater Kim Yu-na to pay her outstanding portions of her endorsement money.

The Seoul Central District Court said it has handed down a settlement between Kim and IB Sports, under which the company must pay the figure star 800 million won (US$691,440) by Jan. 13.

Do you remember that YuNa sued her former management company IB for not giving her 0.87B Won (0.7M USD) income she earned from endorsements? Today, it was announced that the two parties reached to agreement in a court that is practically YuNa's win. YuNa receives from IB 0.8B Won (91% of what she filed for) and there will be no further legal conflict concerning the management contract. Good for YuNa!

Since there was a separate thread for All That Sports' filing suit against Yuna's former agency earlier last year, I assume it would be fair to post the final decision from the court.

Uh... I would rather her have it than some greedy sports agency. :blah:

I doubt this case is really because she needs the money - but it is about the principle of the thing. If she earned something, she should have it - the agency shouldn't keep it all.

Should anyone who 'has enough' money not care that someone else keep their money illegally? that is BS...

It sounds like she was right to sue her agency. It's not so much the money, but the principle of the situation. Just because she has money, she should accept being treated unfairly?

^^ This. The settlement from the lawsuit is not even half of the amount Yu-na has donated to charity (http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2009/10/113_54172.html) (1.7 million USD as of 2009)...and I think Yu-na is more likely to use that money for benevolent purposes than a sports agency.

Why you hate on Yu-na Q? This is what the courts have DECIDED. :P
