Say,I wish I could post a pic. to help you all get an idea to what I'm talking about. But does anyone know what the move or Element is called when the Skate leans back?...Not the Layback. But when the Skater leans back with her body and Free-Leg both Horisontal to the ice. Like the body is kinda like a (T). I know it's done. As I've seen Rachael Flatt do it. Does anyone know what it's called? Thanks.

Is the skater spinning? Sounds like you're describing an inverted camel spin where the skater's face and upper body are facing the ceiling.

Either that or some sort of a reverse spiral where they lay backwards as opposed to face down. I haven't seen anyone do that on ice since the early 80's though.

Good question?....It's hard to tell. As I've only seen still pics.

Is there such a thing?yeah, a skater named Patricia Mansfield used to do it. Her best skate came at 95 us nats where she placed in the top 6.

Yes I saw a televised cheesefest in about 81 or 82 and I think it was Dianne someone who did it. Charlie Tickner was also in it (skating to some hideous "bump bump bumpity bump" song).
Youtube link to both the inverted camel spin and the inverted spiral.

Spiral: (Sorry it's a FB image, only one I could find doing the inverted spiral)

If it is a spin, isn't it called a layover camel?

There used to be an IJS document with photos of spin positions somewhere on the web, but I cannot find it right now.

I watched the video, and she didn't do what I'm thinking. The Skaters I've seen have kind of laid back like there lying on the back looking up at the celing, and at the same time, one Leg is up in the air, pointed straight accross, not up like in a Spiral, and the other Leg is down with the Blade on the ice.

There is a layover, and then there is an invert. With the invert you actually rotate right over on the skating hip so that both hips are facing upwards. The layover doesn't rotate quite as far in the skating hip and just finishes in an open position. Inverts are very rare on ice.

I think you're thinking of a layover camel, because I remember seeing Rachael Flatt do one in one of the GP's this year.

If it's what I'm thinking of.. Emanuel Sandhu did it in his 2006 lp. The one where he's wearing blue. :p

I was thinking more like the spin at 1:30: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qN3VVSCBdIQ&feature=player_detailpage#t=89s

But that may be a variation on the same spin?

First one is a layover (at 0:38ish).
